SW Pets FAQ
So if people didn't know, I had a thread a few months ago asking about what to do about SW Pets. I said that it might be unstable and could easily break. I have fixed those two problems.
SW Pets is now just as stable as the other versions, the only difference is that this is in BETA.

Now onto the FAQ.

Q: Why did you release this as a Beta?
A: SW mobs can be a little tricky to port over which might take a lot of time to get them working the way I want them to. Since I spend almost all of my DST time modding Playable Pets, I almost never have time to actually test it. So I thought it would be best to release it as a Beta so while I'm working on it, people can leave ideas or report bugs/crashes that I would otherwise miss.

Q: Can you play as seal?
A: No, its not possible as seal has no animations outside of its idle animation.

Q: Why is the mod size huge!?
A: Its all the files needed to make SW pets a thing. The sounds, animations, graphics, etc. All had to be ported over. This makes SW update/download longer than other versions of the mod. If SW gets ported over to DST, then the mod size will greatly be reduced.

Q: Won't the mod conflict if SW gets ported over to DST?
A: No, the mod should be fine. If the other versions don't get broken when it gets ported, this one shouldn't either.

Q: Will this mod conflict with other SW related mods?
A: It shouldn't but if it does I can probably fix it.

Q: How can Dragoon spit fire?
A: Dragoon can spit fire, however you will need to disable Fire Protection in the mod configs (its enabled by defualt). Then press X. All fire related things will be controlled by fire protection.

Q: Will Seal be made playable?
A: No, Seal cannot be made playable. He has no animations outside of the idle animation.

Q: How can Packim transform?
A: Packim can transform in two ways: Having a fire staff (fire packim) or eating 30 fish (fat packim).
The fire staff code is a bit weird, you will need to pick up the fire staff then unequip it. Then pick up something else to allow transformation to happen. There is no reliable way to fix issue.

Q: Why are there no ocean mobs?
A: Because there is no ocean, those mobs will be coded for the ocean only. So you will not see them until SW gets ported over. Ocean mobs will appear if SW gets implemented.

Q: What if SW is confirmed to not be ported over?
A: Not sure, we'll just have to wait and see for that one.

I think that covers all the questions for now. I'll add more if more questions pop up.

Uh, how does the tigershark jump? also, how long does it take the baby to mature?

Press C to enable rage mode, while in rage mode the Tigershark will jump as his attack. Note that after a jump, you will have to wait a little bit before you can jump again (you will do the normal attack until you can jump again).

Sharkitten grows based on eating, much like the smallbird from the original version. Sharkitten will grow into a teen when eating 50 meats, and into an adult after eating a total of 150 meats.

What if SW never actually gets ported/ gets cancelled for dst?

Then I'll release the ocean mobs and add a configuration setting whether to teleport them to the ocean or keep them on land or just disable them entirely. If anyone can port SW over themselves then I will make the mod compatible with that.

Are all planned land pets in, and if so, does that mean you'll be updating homes into sw pets from now on?
Leonardo Coxington  [developer] 17 May, 2016 @ 11:48pm
There might be a couple I'm forgetting, but homes are coming out in the next update.

What's different about the splumonkey and the primeape? I spawned an AI splumonkey and it was faster than me even though I was a primeape. Not sure if that's intentional or not. What does learned from humans mean?

There isn't much difference between the two, Primeape doesn't have nightvision and gets hungry slightly faster than Splumonkey. Primeape and Splumonkey should be running at the same speed, this will be fixed.

Is there anything that primeape does better than splumonkey? If not, perhaps it should be buffed in some way. It seems like an unfair downgrade for people who want to play something else, espescially with a balance based mod. Maybe this should be in general suggestions, but I feel like just merging my question and this into this post. EDIT: Did some testing and the splumonkey from the MOD and sw edition run at the same speed. This means you need to fix both of their run speeds, or I'm hallucinating.

Probably does more damage. The Prime ape is probably what Splumonkey should be. Splumonkey only gets nightvision because of their natural habitat: caves. Their hunger probably helps them live down there.

In my opinion I like Prime ape over Splumonkey despite the latter being better. I like to think of it as an Almost-Wes of monkeys.

Has primeape become faster or slower since the last update?
Leonardo Coxington  [developer] 19 May, 2016 @ 9:34am
He should be as fast as other monkeys.

What is twister mode? I can't seem to find it in the mods configs eitehr way. Could you tell me what it does?

The config shares the same spot where you can enable/disable Sealnado.

Twistermode forces it to rain and causes lightning to strike very very often, the intention is to help simulate hurricane season. It will rain as long as Sealnado is in the server. It will also work in caves, however no lightning will strike in the caves.

This mode is a wip and might cause FPS drops or lag (I was running a bunch of stuff at the time so it might not). It is not recommended for public servers.

How will twister's suck attack be implemented?
