XCOM 2
Suit Upgrading
Upgrading heavy weapons
Hey, thanks for the suit upgrade. It's awesome.

Also, thanks for the Elerium core manufacturing. I'm not using it just yet, but I think in my next playthru (Legend difficulty), I will try it.

SO, my idea, how about doing for the heavy weapons what you did for the tier 2 armor.

So, create an upgrade path for the heavy weapon platform into the powered weapons platform.

What say you?

I actually allready tried that, the biggest reason i havent published it yet is because im not sure how to balance it properly, the issue is that theres only 2 Heavy weapons, but theres 4 Heavy Powered Weapons, it would allow people to easily get the Hellfire Flamethrower and the Shredstorm launcher.

The Blaster Launcher and the Plasma Blaster(i think its called?) don't have a lower version to upgrade from.

If all of them had a non upgraded version id be all over it, but as it is it could be quite easily gamed, and im not sure how to counter it, making it prohibitidly expensive would be counter productive.

But if people still want it i could look into adding it, with just a mediocre alloy / elerium cost, nowhere near what the Core Crafting costs of course.

Hmmm, maybe someone will find two inactive heavy weapons and activate them lik ethey did with the psyonic skills, additional armors and bullets.

Hmm, How about upgrading just the two then? Blaster launcher is like an upgraded missile, no? The blaster launcher is similar to the plasma blaster, no?

The problem is that people can game it by being able to specifically use the Heavy Weapons to build a Flamethrower or a Shredder gun and upgrade them if all they want is the Hellfire or Shredstorm canon, even if they allready have the Heavy Powered Weapons, since theres less chance of getting a non desired weapon from Heavy Weapons.

Its a minor thing but i feel it changes the dynamic of the elerium core economy in a way i dont really like.

That's a good point. I was thinking about it, but it didn't click.

I am really enjoying your mods, but I think your elerium chamber might be OP. Might want to consider the ratios.

Elerium Core crafting you mean ? yeah, its probally the most cheaty of them, its why i split it into two mods, one for Suit Upgrading and one for Core Crafting, so people can use what they want.

Yea, but if you cut the output by two or double the materials needed, it will be a lot less "cheaty".

Just saying.

Output by two ? Suit upgrading only builds one suit, and Elerium Core only produces one core ?

While we're on the topic of upgrading lower tier gear, what do you think about upgrading nanoscale armor into plated armor? I have the finite factory mod installed, so there is a limited number of predator armor, and I think I might try to merge your code with it to make the armor upgradeable.

Sure, you are welcome to, i probally wont make one for that, but you are welcome to reverse engineer my code, its in the mod folder under "Src", it should be very easy, just copy one of the techs and replace the required item with a plated armor and the reward item with a powered armor.
