Turned off all mods. Uninstalled the nexus mod manager version of this mod. Downloaded the fresh version from the Steam Workshop.
Just tried a new game and completed Gatecrasher. Used the console to create an AWC then console leveled the barracks until the first Hidden Perk triggered. No sign that the mod triggered.
Loaded an old tactical game which I knew would result in a Hidden Perk being triggered. At mission end, the Hidden Perk triggered. No sign that the mod triggered.
I've checked %steamapps\workshop\content\(numbers)\(numbers)\Config\XComChooseableAWC.ini, but
"ENABLE_RESPEC_AWC_PERK_BUTTON" set to "true".
I don't know if this issue caused by latest update of the mod or smth else, or maybe I'm just blind and can't find it, but I'd really appreciate help.
The only other mod I use is SWR Not Created Equally. Could it be a conflict between theese two mods?
P.S. I do realise, that question about Respec button had been answered in comment section of the mod already, but I can't find that damn thing!
I have a save game with multiple soldiers ready for promotion. Two of them get an AWC perk choice, and the other two (sniper, specialist) have one automatically awarded.
There is no respec button
I have edited the XComChooseableAWC.ini file to ENABLE_RESPEC_AWC_PERK_BUTTON = true; default = true
I really dont want volatile mix for my sharpshooter.
I have turned the mod on and off, multiple times. I've also unsubscribed adn resubscribed, as well as cleared out my config folder while testing integrity of files. I even started a new game.
Still not working properly.
after alien hunters: mod is enabled, but there is no sign in game that it is working
I wish they would quit putting out updates that crash so many mods out there if they are trying to be "mod friendly"
Also, just like most of the other people, no respec button is appearing for me, changed it in the config etc
I copy-pasted the following:
"Try deleting the XcomEngine.ini from ..\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config."
^THAT worked for me, fixed my other mods too, but this one broke after you updated it
I'm going to try that again, as well as your suggestion of making a copy of the mod in my folder
Addition: soldiers also still taking random perks. Obviously, mod isn't working, at least for me. Should I wait for another update/fix, or it's just my problem?
I solved the issue (at least for me) do what my previous post says and delete that ini file, also, put a copy of the workshop files in the same folder like the author says (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500. And finally make sure the config file for the mod (same as last folder) the button option is set to True I did all three and it's working fine now
Make sure you set the button to TRUE. The first time I did it, I just changed the default=true and wasnt paying attention...that half of the line is commented out and doesn't mean anything. Best to put true in both parts of the line.
;///////////////RESPEC BUTTON/////////////////////////////
;adds a respec AWC PERK Button the the soldier perk screen
;which allows the rechoosing of AWC perks at well
ENABLE_RESPEC_AWC_PERK_BUTTON = true; default = true
;positional data of the respec button;
RESPEC_POS_X = 870;default = 50
RESPEC_POS_Y = 130;default = 40
RESPEC_SIZE_H = 35;default = 70
RESPEC_SIZE_W = 20;default = 35
The new positional data makes the button smaller, and locates it up and to the right of your Squaddie Ability in the Soldier Ability Screen.
So if you have enabled it in the .ini, you should now see the button at fullscreen resolutions where it might have been invisible or off screen previously.
edit: ok, finally got it to download, had to unsub/resub multiple mods to get it to register, attempting fixes listed above now
edit: working, copied workshop files like you said
