Upcoming Balance Changes
So on February 28th, we're doing a leaderboard reset, along with a major balance patch. I'm not gonna put numbers in here cause I'm still adjusting/testing stuff, buuuuut expect the following:
  • Single Element Towers:
    • Fire Tower getting nerfed a bit
    • Adjustments to damage, speed, range, and AoE on Nature, Earth, Light, and Darkness Towers.
    • I know a lot of people think Focused & Refined Single-Element Towers are just stepping stones to get to Pure Towers. Although this'll technically break consistency (every upgrade is a factor of 5 across everything), the power factor of those towers is going up, so Focused & Refined will theoretically be good and actually usable.
  • Dual Element Towers:
    • Costs of Level 3 Dual Towers being dropped a bit.
    • Ice Tower & Life Towers' damage dropped a bit.
    • Moss Tower level 3 attack rate fixed to match the other two levels, aka 0.66.
    • Gunpowder & Poison Towers gettin' a damage buff.
    • Blacksmith, Well & Trickery Towers getting large damage buffs. Not their abilities, though.
  • Triple Element Towers:
    • Haste Tower's max stacks BAT gettin' nerfed.
    • Flamethrower Tower's damage getting nerfed. Not touching Napalm though.
    • Runic Tower... not entirely sure. It needs to be buffed for early-mid game but not as broken late game. Twill be trying stuff out.
    • Hail Tower gettin' a damage buff.
    • Tidal Tower, gonna slow the rate that it loses AoE. It'll still have the same starting damage/AoE and end damage, just altering it so it doesn't drop to single-target as fast, especially with Waterfall Tower.
    • Ephemeral Tower gettin' a damage buff.
    • Gold Tower gettin' a damage buff; in exchange, its bounty bonus is going down.
  • Other:
    • Chaos Mode score multiplier getting reduced.
    • Wave Timer are getting adjusted. Nutshell, Haste Tower will no longer be at perma-max attack speed in Rush + Insane. On the flipside, outside of perma-max Haste Tower, Rush + Insane should be slightly easier.
    • Score Multipliers have been getting calculated incorrectly, and as a result, some bonuses (ie the consecutive bonuses on Clean Bonus + Speed Bonus) weren't really that strong. Everything will be multiplicative, sooooo don't be surprised if all the top scores suddenly go to 600k+... or higher.


Large balance list of doom! By the way, I'd like some thoughts on this - should selling be actually possible in all-pick? Say from 75% to 90%? Something that doesn't penalize you nearly as bad for screwing up positions or something. Anyhow, discuss below!

Should some tower that not in used at all give some buff? like Disease tower.

Make more variaties instead everyone copying each other.

Everyone copying each other is something called "follow the meta", and in the dota community, well... it's rather popular. A good chunk of it is balance issues. Disease tower is perfectly fine as is.

Also, I feel like an idiot. Moss tower doesn't need a formula change... its level 3 BAT is 1 instead of 0.66.

I dint say Diseases tower is OP or useless..but with the stats and function not really that usable with small range.

Kay. Trying out a change on the formula, should make it scale better. Right now Laser is outdoing it, and while I wouldn't call Laser OP..... it should be the other way around, at least in terms of finishing creeps off.
