Garrus mod Problems/Suggestions/Questions?
We are currently updating the mod and plan to do so until we feel it's working as we intended. Right now it's our opinion that it's working - but it could be better. We have a limited supply of wavs, 140 or so. So we're endeaveuring to have all of them working in some aspect of the mod for each and every voice action a soldier takes.

This may mean some updates - they will likely just be soundcue edits and should not effect the size of the mod which is already substantial.

If you find an issue you think we can fix, or have a suggestion for us, let us know here!
Thanks!

The volume of the voice is a little too loud when compared to the regular voices, it stands out too much - perhap you can tone it down just a tiny bit?
Thanks, and a great mod!

Nice idea, its a shame that the dialog's have so much variation in his voice, I take it you got the clips from multipe games?

Yep, the idea was always to have a lot of variation so the voice doesnt get boring after you've been playing with that character for a while. The downside is that the recordings are from different parts of the game, some are from the NPC's in a playable state, others are from the interactive cinematics - both have different settings which are difficult to equalise - but for the sake of it being a mod it's pretty decent imho. We've done our best to achieve a balance between the two without making one too loud or the other too soft. Sadly, the only real solution to this would be to record the voices ourselves, but that's not gonna happen with a free mod :)

...at least not with the quality voiceactors from Mass Effect.
Wouldnt mind seeing a few accent mods like this though, that could be food for thought for us at a later point.

Hey illequine, I've subscribed to you voice pack, it shows in my mods list and on the voice selection screen in the character pool, but when I put it on my Garrus, he does not make any sound during missions or when I try to preview it. I tried downloading it again but had no luck... do you have any idea what could be wrong? I have other voice packs working properly, like Sheppard and Deadpool, but for some reason yours don't. I'm playing on Mac by the way. Thanks!

Hi cajao - i have no idea why that's happening. I would assume there's a reasonable chance the mod did not install correctly. As far as i'm aware the mod should preview and work ingame fine on Mac.
It may be a case of trying a few different methods of troubleshooting.
Here are a few things to try.

Try the game with the garrus mod only and check the character pool to see if it's working.

Try with all mods disabled - if garrus shows up in the character pool something is wrong.

Write down or take note of all the mods you have - then unsub from them all on steam - load the game - it should show no mods. If it does show any mods - they need to be removed physically by going to the directory they are installed in (not sure on mac) and deleting the appropriate content.

While all mods are unsubbed - and you've started XCOM2 again - exit game, go back to steam, resub to garrus - let it download the files again and try the preview in the character selection screen.

if it's still not working after all that, then i guess the issue is that the mod is not 100% supported on mac at this time.

Additional info for cajao - if you're astill having issues after the troubleshooting steps above - try verifying the cache for XCOM2.
Hope this helps!

Thanks illequine! I'll try this methods and will report back the results.

Hey, just getting back to say I had no luck trying to make it work here...the other ME voice packs are working fine, but for some reason this one don't, and it's for the best chars in the game! =(
I'm going to go full Krogan team....thanks for the help illequine!

No problem, sorry it worked out like that, sounds like something a full reinstall of the game would fix sadly :/

Thanks illequine, I'll try that later.

just a general message - the voicepack mods are not working 100% of the time on MAC. We dont know why, only that they work sometimes, and then then they dont.
