Mr Rogers
A Mr Rogers voice pack has been requested several times, but - myself not being American - I had never heard of him before a few weeks ago.

Steam user Limb of Satan has suggested we create the mod as a community, as it is a lot of work for me to create on my own when I don't really know the person. So let us know what should be included in the mod here (as both myself and Limb of Satan don't know his catchphrases).

So please suggest lines that should make it into the mod here. It would be extremely helpful if you could provide timestamps for when the quote occurs in an episode/Youtube video so we can quickly find the quote.

And if you want to help even further, please suggest which action in-game the quote should be associated with (making a kill, taking damage, reloading, etc).

Thanks guys

As another who was pushing for this idea, I'll offer my input and some more info on Fred Rogers for those curious about an iconic role model who would have such a demand:

========================

(Those who already know him a bit may feel free to skip this section and go to some of the idea outlines I've offered below.)

I find it a bit amusing that some would know Bob Ross more than Mr. Rogers, considering the latter was a PBS icon right next to Sesame Street, and the former more of an Alaskan PBS icon. Yet as someone who grew up with Mr. Rogers and knew Bob Ross a bit, along with having family who served in the US Air Force with him, I think you're giving both a good tribute. :ss2heart:

Capturing the right essence of Mr. Rogers as you have with Bob Ross would be quite important, so here's a bit of a description to help out.

Mr. Rogers was much like Bob Ross, in that he was a very kindly man, except incredibly more so*. Few childhood actors (though he really wasn't an actor) or shows had really reached out to US children has he did. Where Bob Ross was soft-spoken because he was a former US Air Force Master Sergeant (upper enlisted, generally have to keep the lower enlisted boots in line while training the shower shoes - a lot of the shouty-shouty going on at times that he absolutely hated to do), Mr. Rogers was a Presbyterian minister who, if he had to be summed up with one phrase it would be "I like you just the way you are." For being a religious man, he preached nothing of that religion in his shows - instead making them good inspirational lessons that any human may appreciate.

<Mythos>But then...there HAS to be a dark past, right? A reason why he can shake hands calmly with The Incredible Hulk and be that placid? Man must be US SEAL or just able to break out some serious asswhuppin' or SOMETHING...*</Mythos>

Nah, he was just that good of a guy, as he said that children could spot a phony a mile away. Like that "Captain Kangaroo" fellow who wasn't even Australian... :cgrazz:

Some more quotes to look for by Fred Rogers, and a bit of a starting point for the thread to fish up for ideas:

(Spotting an enemy):
"It's Mr. McFeely!"
"Welcome, neighbor!"

(Throwing Grenade):
"The next time you hear from me, I will be wearing Mr. McFeely's t-shirt."

"You always make it a special day for me. You know how, don't you? By just your being you."

(Killing an enemy):
"I like you just the way you are."

Anything to do with Trolley for transport.

Some possible way to bring in Imagination Land characters/quotes?

(Evac):
"[the trolley approaches] Oh hi, Trolley. Is it time to go back to reality now?"

And so, knowing that, this becomes a bit more...amusing:

I personally would love a Mr. Rogers VA for my soldiers. Here, if this helps give any insight to him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFzXaFbxDcM
