A Better Manual
Here's a manual detailing the changes made by this mod.

http://www.derbk.com/Downloads/ABA/ABetterManual.pdf

It has information on all the new enemies that are in this mod. A detailed documentation of the AI changes didn't make it in yet, but it's coming.

More importantly, there's also a Roadmap at the end. Everything on that roadmap will be done in the next 2 months. So if you were wondering about where this mod is headed... now you know!

"Hitbased chance for overwatch added."
What exactly does that mean, and does it mean that all overwatches in basic xcom 2 were not even based on your soldier's stats?

@Flareon From my understanding, and I believe DerBK is going to correct me on that but it means that the enemies will go on overwatch based on their chance to hit the soldiers.

That little bit of extra overwatching is actually already going to be in the version that i'll be uploading sometime today. From the patch notes:
___

- Made something i called an "Overwatch Override". It's a little piece of AI tree that decides if a unit is better of using Overwatch than just shooting. It works by making a random roll against a probability that is determined by hit chance brackets.
The exact values are:
Highest Hitchance < 10% --> 90% chance for Overwatch
Highest Hitchance < 25% --> 75% chance for Overwatch
Highest Hitchance < 50% --> 30% chance for Overwatch
Highest Hitchance < 75% --> 15% chance for Overwatch
___

So when an alien has a low hitchance, it will more often consider doing an Overwatch instead. I am determining this with a random roll to keep it less predictable. Vanilla has a overwatch decision that does take into account some infos (like number of overwatchers already on the team or if an VIP/Evac is in sight), but statwise it only checks for hitchance < 50% or not and makes it a binary switch. Seems a bit simple to me and worth an upgrade. In practice you rarely see aliens take an overwatch in vanilla unless there's an evac zone or VIP near.

Thanks for the PDF and all your hard work on this mod. :) It's made my replay so much more enjoyable! :)

Reading the PDF I see no mention of Stasis Troopers, Echogunners, or Combat Junkie troopers - does this mean you've scrapped them as ideas, or am I misremembering what mod they came from?

Edit: Ah yes, I misremembered which mod they came from - Advent Ascended. Pardon my mistake. #somanymods :)

@Der
Okay, thanks for explaining, and well done on fixing overwatch, i'll be sure to actually be worried about aliens being on overwatch outside of a escort mission

If you want some more examples of the mod in action then add in christopherodd. He's pretty big and he has the mod in his campaign.
