I agree, I like the idea but it doesn't quite fit because of how clean it is.

So creating a brand new gun has to look dirty?
Steffan 22 Feb, 2016 @ 5:59am
yeah cos it has to fit the style of the game, add a couple grungy textures on here and make it look a little worn and it would be perfect

Have you not seen the ♥♥♥♥ new AK skin with the ugly rainbow fade? This one is just fine in terms of being 'dirty'.

alucard 22 Feb, 2016 @ 1:36pm

You guys gotta check the WIKI for Rust SDK/Workshop, they don't want things which are looking "new", they want worn/old stuff.
PraiseTuna 22 Feb, 2016 @ 2:53pm
If you zoom in on the texturing, this thing *is* worn out, just along the corners and edges of the paint.

To compare it to a similar skin system (CSGO) this is like a ft or minimal wear skin. But if you look around the skin (Especially near the front) it has worn down paint.

Months ago Facepunch implented shaders for workshop items to make it really simple if you wanted to "dirty up" a modded weapon. The gun doesn't need to be modeled any diffrently to achieve that look...

It has rust on it. Paint makes things look new, and I think this looks about right. And the devs have a dirt layer if they think it could use a bit more dirt on it.
