Cosmetics?
How would cosmetics fit on the models, unlike the zombie model i don't think most cosmetics would "Appeal" to the common player, and i heavily doubt valve will rework every single hat and cosmetic to the model. I like the concept but its chances of making it in to the game are very slim

Yeah, this is very much a prototype more than anything. I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the comments, but I decided to post this up on a whim more than anything. They were originally supposed to be SFM additions and nothing more.

Right now, this item is really here to guage community reaction. I wouldn't mind going through and making formal models for the team that work with the cosmetics(carved puppet heads, bodies, hands), and then deferring the simple round headed puppets to MvM or bot skins. I could also pursue things like MvM wooden tanks ands sentries as well.

The problem right now: Do I put forth several months(to half a year, potentially) of painstaking work on something 1,000 or so people will download, or less than 10k people will even see? How many new models/items could I put out in that same amount of time? Could I potentially make something much cooler than this? It's a workshopper's conundrum.

I was thinking that they would introduce curtain hats and cosmetics that work with the puppet model, but that most of the cosmetics would not be available, But their is a problem with this idea that people would complain that they would not be able to use the're own outfit while this is active, but with these models, the community can constantly add more and more hats and cosmetics to the model, like the robot hats. maybe this could make it into the game.

(its a stupid idea) but how about cosmetics ONLY for the puppet mercs? (or just a few reworked to go with the puppets like the first 9 hats and a few other ones)

This seems like it could be the pyrovison goggles but instead puppets and when equipped everything looks like that

That's what i mean, but that would be the best case scenario for this getting added to the game.

I can tell you i tested it with the sfm models and inorder for it to work with chest cosmetics, the shoulders need to be moved down slightly and made smaller.
This would be a strange cosmetic that makes every cosmetic on you look wooden.(maybe the guns too).
