Note: if you don't see the animation, you may need to sync your copy of the module files from steam via the in-game mod screen. There will be an "Update 1..." message in the in-game mod description once updated.

In case anyone wants to make use of the same technique, it works by chopping off the part of the interior you want as background from the sprite/bumpmap/fragmap and putting it down somewhere else and then re-adding it via:
Although it looks like fragmentation and visual damage doesn't get applied normally to the background as it does the rest of the interior.
