Easy Inventory

Can you make this work for welder ships?
This is so handy for small jobs in tight places near an inventory access. What about for welder ships? Is there a way to make something like this load what you neef into a welder ship?

How would you specify what you need?

I don't know, I'm not the smart programmer who came up with this idea.

I meant the interface. You hold currently hold the block, but there is no block to hold in the ship.

I know, maybe with ship builder mode?

Or a sorter with an assembler like interface

i have actually done something with a refining station of mine. although it did take me 25 sorters to do and a big space to do it...

all you do is have a main cargo box with a bunch of automated refinerys and assemblers pumping out coponents into this cargo box and just simply put a connector on your cargo box and your "repair drone" or welder ships cargo and make the cargo boc connector on your refining station pump out into your welder ship and off you go!

now the only thing is i have a farm of refineries and a assembler for each individual coponent in the game which is going into a large cargo box,
then from that it's getting put into a large storage area (20+ large cargo boxes),
then from there it gets pumped out via sorters to a connector which my welder ship connects to.

yes i know i can't individualy pick how many coponents i have but who cares if you already have everything in your cargohold to build a reasonably sized ship in one go?

for crafts, I've found that using a inventory manager works it's wounders.
(Automated Inventory Sorting for example: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=321588701) just setup your craft cargo contain. name with "cargo: (component:5000)".. that's it, it's that simple. now, each time you dock onto a connector (merge), components will automatically transfer to your craft (specifically 5000 of each) the mod scripting is super customizable, so you can do what you'd like. just thought i'd pass that along.

With Taladen's Inventory Manager, you can set the cargo container on your welding ship to hold a specific number of each component. Then each time you dock it to a connector, it will refill itself. No need for complex sorters, multiple boxes or what have you. Just dock and go. As an added bonus, TIM will automate assemblers to keep a quota of each component in stock. Compliments this mod quite well.

Isy's Inventory Manager will also do custom load outs in specific containers. So you put a container for welder loading down with a connector directly to it, to load the ship (this might be better than direct to the ship). Set up IIM to load out, say grids and plates to the max your ship will hold. Dock and dump all the container into the ship.

The simplest solution would be to add a bottom called "Load into current Ship" on a projector. Only major issue I see is the difference between small and large grid.

I know you can place blocks while flying a ship. I sometimes do it on large builds when I don't feel like getting out.

Would that be what your talking about?
