[Release] Engine Editor App [v2.11.0]
Introduction
Hey everyone, I am releasing a desktop application that I made that allows you to quickly manage (create, modify, remove) engines for my mod. I used this app to create the mod, and still use it to quickly apply updates to this mod as it is much faster than editing files manually. This app is able to generate the required SII files that the game uses for its engines and sounds. It can automatically merge the generated SII files right into my mod, making it extremely quick and handy. The app does work for ETS 2 as well, you just need to disable mod integration in the settings menu.

Creating, Modifying and Removing Engines
Creating and adding new engines to your game can break your save game if you ever decide to delete these newly created engines. Make sure that any engines you do add to the game (including the engines from this mod), are not installed in any of your trucks before removing this mod. The default SCS engines have been left in the game, and have "(SCS)" appended to their name's in game, so they are easy to find.

Modifying Sound Packages
Any time you make changes to an engine's sound package, you need to make sure that your current truck does NOT have that engine series installed. For example, if you have an ISX15 605 in your current truck, and you modify the ISx15 sound package to something else (and merging that change with the mod), you will have NO truck sounds when you start your game back up. It is best to install an SCS engine before modifying the sound packages to any of the engines to prevent the no sound bug. If you still encouter the sound bug, Please create a topic in this discussion forum and I will get back to you ASAP.

Steam Updates
If an update happens to this mod, Steam will delete all files in the mod folder before applying the update. If this happens, you will need to download the new update to this program (to get the new changes), Re-Compile your modifications, and merge the new compilation you just made with the mod. I will try and release as few updates to the mod via Steam as possible, but big fixes must be taken care of. Just remember that any engines you add or modified can be re-applied (thus overwriting the update) by Re-Compiling the mod again with the editor, and syncing the files. By updating this App first, you will not be "undoing" any bug fixes from the update since they will be also fixed in the App's updated files.

Wilson, my path is different to yours.C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\270880\650050267\latest\def\vehicle\truck

could this be why?

Nope, the path shouldnt be an issue at all. The paths in the def files are relative (not full) paths. I will release an update to this program shortly that lets you define your steam path.

Yes plus I noticed that in your text you wrote the only N14 references you have found are related to the Freightliner FLB.Makes me feel da realism there.:)Thanks for the help....

How exactly does one figure out what the "Truck Identifier" is? I've tried to guess, but cannot determine what it's supposed to be.

Its the "Unit Name" for the truck in SII files... If you extract the truck files (using Winrar for example), and navigate to "def/vehicle/truck/", you will see a folder in the format of "<brand.truck>", that is the Unit name (IE: the truck identifier). I should have labeled that field better, and soon I will release a video tutorial ;)

Ah! Thank you, it was a piece of cake once you told me that.

you know what would be cool? if you provided a truck and a trailer editor!! I've always wanted to make my own truck or trailer but I haven't been able to find an app for that!!

Coming soon. I currently have a new update for the tool, that is still a work in progress that makes this tool much easier to use and understand. Once I finish the update, I will also include a video tutorial.

When I go to save the new engine editor, if I save the ZIP folder then try to open it, I get that the archive is corrupted. However, if I directly open the ZIP folder, it lets me into the files no sweat.
