New weapon type.
So, I was thinking of this actually being more of a tool than a weapon. Instead of shootng a flare, it could airblast. The airblasts could be used to jump, as well as to extinguish enemies. And, could cause damage if the enemy was airblasted into a wall. This could be well paired with the plogh or backburner.
