Homing Pigeon

"Library Folder Not Writable" says Steam DL, can't use the mod any longer.
I've been having a fun froth of issues surrounding modded ARK, however this one really is confusing. To kick off, I seem to have a problem with permissions (If I want to delete the 'mods' folder items in the ARK directory, I'm not allowed despite being admin), but I don't think this stems from that because I once did play with the mod, set up a flag- then the mod no longer showed up in my mod list despite being subscribed.

I reinstall ARK to attempt fixing it. Resub all the mods, including Homing Pigeon. However it only starts a little bit then reports the file is not writable and paths me to the mod; steamapps > Workshop > Content > 346110 > 655261420 > LinuxNoEditor > Flag, and if I attempt to open that folder, it tells me access denied. Should I attempt to delete the mod folder (65526...) I am not allowed (which is the permissions problem I believe).

Does anyone know what is going on? I have no clue. The one time I did use the mod, I placed a single flag, went to collect the items for the leg rings, then logged once I'd had enough as I had work to go to so I'd finish it later. Logging back in, there was no flag.

Sounds like an issue with file permissions on your PC. Take a look at this discussion thread and follow the instructions given regarding the igfxEM Module.

To be clear: this is not an issue with this mod, it's an issue with Steam and your PC.

Thanks for the help! I wasn't sure if it was directly related to Homing Pigeon or not. I just now got the same error with Annunaki Genesis. I can't fathom why I'm having permissions issues when I'm the only one using this computer!

Following a link in that discussion thread, and assuming you have a similar system to that of the reported problem in that thread, it is related to a specific driver by intel, which "takes control" of certain files.

I cannot advise further what this driver is or if there would be any ill side-effects from disabling it.

For more information read the reported issue[communities.intel.com] over on the Intel communities page.

FYI, I have updated the troubleshooting thread with this information in case anyone else experiences this problem again in the future.

Hopefully it helps! I did stop the igfx Module through the task manager and the problems I were experiencing immediately stopped; and I don't seem to be suffering any other issues with stopping it.

Glad you were able to resolve your issue. When you restart your PC it is likely that the igFX module will also start again, so you may want to disable it in your start up items.
