1. Build and place flag
2. Equip Leg Ring to flyer
Now when you say you died and it "didn't fly home" I would appreciate it if you can expand what you mean:
When you died did you see the message which stated: "Sending <Flyer Name> to destination: <Homing Pigeon Flag Name>"?
If yes then it is working, the bird will fly in a direct line towards the destination.
However, as I have stated many many many times before, there is currently no collision avoidance. This is something I am actively working on right now. So that being said, your flyer is effectively "blind to the world", and depending on the path, may get blocked or stuck by objects in the world.
If however on the other hand you did not see the aforementioned message then you have either not followed the two steps outlined above, or you have a mod conflict. I would think probably the former.
P.S
The icon in the upper right hand corner is actually a bug, but it does indicate the buff that the leg ring provides is running.
The smithy issue is a known bug (demolish smithy and rebuild a new one to resolve).
Apparently, the bird decided to get into a scrap immediately upon my death. There was no message at the top of the screen or anything, no attempt by the bird to fly back home. I had to race back out to my body to save him.
Thankfully that has been the only incident however. Since then, all's working fine. Keep up the good work!
Ah ok I see. The AI if attacked will default to its normal behaviour, I didn't want to disable that otherwise the flyer doesn't stand a fighting chance. In the future I might be able to provide some other messages to notify the player that this is happening.
