A review of this spectacular mod.
The SI behaves much like what a real player would do (minus the early spawning haha), Smokers are now a threat to even the vigilant person, Spitters are playing their part as an assist as they should be, Jockeys... I still hate them, Hunters are now sneaking and will only growl and pounce at the last moment, Boomers are pretty much the same as I remember them, Chargers can now predict where you'll go, Tanks are terrifying now (you forgot b-hopping but I guess it's for the sake of everyone's sanity) but good LORD the survivor bots became unbearable.

1.) Can't properly rescue a pinned/incapped survivor.
  • They'll stare at a Charger for quite a moment while deciding whether or not to shoot.
  • They'll stare at a Hunter and instead of shooting it point-blank, they'll shove it instead which gives the infected some room to jump off another survivor.
  • They'll follow someone who's being ridden by Jockey but will NOT SHOOT unless the ridden survivor is staying still. There are more chances they'll shove off a Jockey instead of shooting it point blank.
  • There are more chances they'll try and clear out an indefinite horde instead of trying to revive a survivor (they cannot be interrupted). Should the coast be clear they'd move out a little bit looking for something to shoot and THAT'S when they'll rescue you.
2.) They'll avoid the goo, for sure, but should anything come up (a pinned survivor or a horde hitting them) and they're on their way across the deadly substance.

3. ) They have no sense of direction.
  • They can shoot, I give them that, but them trying to find what to shoot is what's grinding my gears. Instead of open firing all they do is wait, shove, fire a few rounds, repeat. They'll also focus on an already dead infected or an infected from miles away.
  • They keep switching from front to back. They waste their time spinning shooting what I'm shooting (since they're originally coded to observe or look at what a player just shot for assist). I was expecting on having no thing hit my back because they got it but holy moly do they fail to do it.
  • They'll keep running to my line of sight. Not a good move in Advanced because I'm more of a trigger-happy player and I'd give you damage before I could lift my finger off.
  • They keep getting stuck at places even players can't get into. sb_unstick works but they take few milliseconds before actually moving/shooting.
4.) Piggybacking on 3.), they became slower.
  • The vanilla bots trail behind, I know that, but this made them stay or walk where they are and won't move until nothing's around them. What's worse is that they do this in every crescendo event that I'd be surprised to see them way behind me when I thought they were following (coaster in DC).
5.) They. Shoot. Weapons. Like. It's. A. Chrome. Shotgun.
  • They became scared of dumping their ammo so much that they wouldn't even fire more than 20 rounds unless they're heavily surrounded.
  • It's even worse when you're pinned because you could see them clearly holding rifles but they'll fire no more than 10 bullets before shoving instead.
  • They'll prefer double pistols over the rifle they're carrying when trying to deal with an SI at an average distance (I keep seeing Ellis do this especially him dumping his Deagle for a Glock).
  • Clearing out hordes in this manner became tedious because they can't clear out the infected enough for the second swarm so we're forced to shove and fire and shove and fire repeatedly until it stops.
6.) Farsighted.
  • They can shoot an infected from Belgium to Hawaii but can't even properly distinguish four infected in front of them. What's worse is that after shoving those four infected, there's a chance they'll shoot another group instead of what they just pushed back.
7.) Keeps healing at the wrong place.
  • Just moments ago I played the coaster at Dark Carnival. As we were on our way to turn off the alarm Ellis got pinned by a Hunter. I was able to rescue him. Instead of using the pills I gave him (I tossed him the bottle and swiftly turned and ran forwards), he decided to heal himself. While being mauled by the infected. I almost gave Nick whiplash after the speed at which I turned the camera back to Ellis.
  • What's worse was that there was a Jockey and a Spitter on the way so instead of saving him, I decided to move forwards instead.
  • There's also another one in the atrium in which Coach got pinned by a Charger. Nick and Rochelle freed him while I pour the final can. Instead of limping towards the car, he decided to heal himself instead. This gave oncoming Tank to punch and incap him.
8.) Keeps healing at the wrong time.
  • They'll use a pill at green bar. Not sure what went wrong there. They also heal while their temporary health is above 70.
9.) Loves fist-fighting the tank.
  • Someone from far away might actually back off, but the one in close proximity they tend to... shoot and shove. I'd understand that if they're in a really enclosed space, but in an open field, I don't think so.
10.) Keeps getting stuck more than they did before.
  • Either behind closed doors, in a blockaded path, between rocks, between chairs - there's always that one bot that'll stray behind and instead of moving forwards they'll just shove and shoot until they get incapped.
I used Left 4 Bots in conjunction with CB+ but my oh my, the actual combat experience itself was a bit distasteful.

However, I'll definitely keep the Infected version of the mod. It's a perfect alternative to practicing for VS (as they usually do things a real player would do). Not to mention they're actually a threat now instead of an annoyance.
