I wasn't entirely convinced on "Capture Cards" as so many other mods add them already, and I don't want to create anything that would be conflicting (hence me internally naming some of the SoftwareTypes incorrectly on purpose, to prevent compatibility issues.)
I will consider it for the next version though, as it's a good point.
- PS/2 and USB already exist on Motherboards, making them compatible with certain Peripherals (which include Mice, Keyboards, and more with USB in later years.) ; v0.8
- "Console" will be a type of Computer (PC Tower, Rack Server, Console.) Motherboards may include other types in the future (Standard, Embedded); where Embedded systems could be for Consoles, Phones, or even appliances. v0.9
- Monitors are coming to Graphics Card very very soon. Graphics Cards will include certain ports (VGA, DVI-D, DisplayPort, HDMI) and you will match those up with a compatible Monitor. v0.7
- Sound and other Gaming peripherals will come with the USB Expansion, and might even come as a separate mod (so you can pick which types of Peripheral markets you want to enable on a per-run/per-game basis. They will be in our Collection here on the workshop though. v0.8
- I am splitting up cooling systems for v0.7, coming very very soon.
- More server stuff to come either in v1.0 or later.
- Cases could use more features like LED lighting, different cooling technique, size
The thing is, YOU ARE the Manafacturer. However; you've made a really good point about adding different architectures or formats of Processors. I could add 64-bit (x86_64) as a new Category only unlocked at a certain time as well, around when 64-bit shows in Operating Systems.
I will make OS depend on Computers eventually; but not until this is later in design :).
Good points :). I obviously need to add a LOT MORE features to the Case, but you have given me some great ideas. I will probably be re-writing the Cooling systems as requested above (to be separate from the components they work on.) "Cooling Systems" thus can be added to everything.
Seems there was some mis-translation in that message, but I get the gist of what you were saying; I hope. You want "Servers" to play a bigger part in the Hardware market? Right now, if you add 14.4k or higher internet to a "Motherboard"; you act as the customer's internet service provider (ISP). You need incredibly high bandwidth to support this.
I might add indviidual hosting types of things to the collection in the future.
Thank you for your support and feedback.
Yeah, the modding system is just not that strnog right now.
By the way, I'm live developing this right now!

keep it up
1) Make the games automatic hardware 'progression' (?) dependent of the development/research of new hardware. This way you can update you own hardware when it becomes available and not by fixed years. E.i. You researched the LCD monitor, and then you can update your computers (and maybe get royalties when competitors do the same or efficiently bonus aso.).
2) How about future hardware? I 2020 we get access to the holo-thingy. Should there be hardware solutions for that era as well?
Consider not giving your customers Fiber internet! You're not required to give them any networking, but you should start out with something conservative like 14.4k or 56k dialup if you're not sure about your servers yet. Adding network makes you their ISP.
1) Yes, this is the hopes. Currently the research system in Software Inc. is lacking, so it's hard to make realistic patents for my mod (the pricing / royalties simply didn't make any sense, or the patent was far too easily obtained.) I'm still working on it.
2) There are a few future hardware; based on real life hardware. Quad socket consumer motherboards for example, as well as 4D personal audio, Fiber internet, Daughter and Sister processing boards, and a few other pieces of fun that Servers currently have in 2016 ; but Consumers won't have for a good 5-10 years the way technology goes.
I will be adding more though, probably VR tech coming soon :).
