Cacti: Where are they?

I have seen in the comments that harvestable cacti can be found in the eastern desert. But after around 2 hours of flying through the desert, I haven't seen a single big or small cactus. I really need to get some cactus sap to make clay for my thorny dragon saddle. Any help is wanted.
