Remove the pose
It should just be the engineer smacking his wrench, the pose is unnecessary and removes the humor

that would also remove anything that takes any effort to animate

I'll chime in for this one: Your suggestion is filled with loads of technical impossibilities, the biggest one being weapon selection and animation smoothing, When you start a taunt it smooths your position to the beginning of the taunt animation(Hence why the beginning of this one is a t-pose, you'll never actually see it in-game). This is what allows the animation to move flawlessly from idle to whatever taunt you choose, it also allows you to bring out the taunt no matter what weapon you are carrying(Weapon specific not included). The other major problem with your suggestion is art style/taunt purpose. It is important to know when a taunt begins and ends, it is also important to have an idea what taunt will realistically have a chance of being in the game. A straight rip of Valve's original animation with the head stretching(Which what nope.avi) originally is would never be accepted because nothing was bought to the table. Look at the 1/10 chance spycrab taunt, when it happens does spy crouch and look up? No its an entirely new animation that references the age old spy crab joke. Anyway apologies for this, I just think that this criticism is not well researched. Plus this is what it would look like someone else has already done it the way you described https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NPlvYRiNxw

At the end right before the video ends you'll see the "Snapping" of animation I described earlier

I agree with this.

I say it would be a great thing for people who know the original, but it'll be hard to sell a taunt that looks so half-assed. The work put into what they made right now is fine for that kind of problem. Though, I'd like Engie's neck to be outstretched for at least a few seconds longer than the taunt, if I could have it that way. The original Nope.avi had him walk away, neck erect, which adds to the humor.

The pose is the best thing

Remove the pose pls.

i think removing the pose will make valve not even think about adding this, the taunt as cool and iconic as it is does not make much sense, even for a game like tf2
the poze adds a bit of originalaty and adds a feeling of actual effort put into it
