Saving
Has anyone figured out how to save the game normally, without having to use save states? I don't think it's the emulator, because I can save on a Sonic 3 mod just fine.

Because only Sonic 3 has SRAM support due to it being an integral part of the saving system, so only mods that put themselves under it can use it. Sonic 1 and 2 mods have no such luck, sadly.

For clarification, mods can cheat this by putting their mod under Sonic 3 to enable SRAM, but in SCH's case, it would mean needing to set a DLC requirement for all three games.

Darn. Would it be possible to have a separate mod release requiring all three games? There are pleanty of mods on other games that have different versions of it depending on installed DLC.

You would have to take that up with flamewing himself. Though I'm not sure if you'll be able to contact him, it's worth a shot - as far as I know, this project's still under development at the SonicRetro forums.
