Progress Version 0.02
Now that a few weeks have passed with the minor bugs in the mod addressed, I can finally continue development of this mod. I will keep a progress log here that will be updated at least once a week that will contain the progress made so far with the next version, which will be 0.10 in its next release.

Feel free to comment in this discussion as I will look for general feedback and will sometimes look for user input for what direction I should go with certain pieces of content.

I'll also sometimes post what's going to be next on the chopping block. Though it will usually just be one thing, and the rest will be a surprise for what's coming with it.

Anyway, here's what's currently been developed as of version 0.02:

V. 0.02 Changelog

General Changes
-Help Information added to all new units and buildings.

Hero Changes

Attribute Point System
-Heroes now gain an attribute point every level to spend as their preference dictates.
-They will still spend a point on their primary stat every other level.
-Heroes now have an Attribute Preference mechanic where they will evaluate their current Attributes and choose to spend a point on one based on their preference towards it.
-Heroes each have a different ranking for which attributes they prefer, and rank them from most preferred to least preferred.

Attribute Changes

Strength
-Melee heroes have a 1% chance to critical strike enemies per 6 points of Strength.
-Ranged heroes have a 1% chance to critical strike enemies per 10 points of Strength.

Intelligence
-Intelligence now increases general spell debuff, buff, duration, enemies/allies affected, area, and other aspects of spells if they're applicable when cast.
Some spells/abilities may have effects based off of a different attribute when appropriate for the spell's context at a reduced amount compared to Intelligence.

Artifice
-Artifice grants 1% Movement Speed and 4% Attack Speed per point.
-Artifice increases Sight and Attack Range by 2 per point for ranged heroes that do not have a Range Increase per level.
-Artficie reduces the cooldown of general spells and abilities.
Some spells/abilities may have cooldowns based off of a different attribute when appropriate for the spell's context at a reduced amount compared to Artifice.

Vitality
-Vitality gives a point of armor for every 10 points of Vitality.
-Vitality gives Healing Potions 1 more point of healing per 4 points of Vitality.

Willpower
-Willpower now decreases debuff effects and durations of enemy spells, and increases the buff effects and durations of friendly spells.
-Willpower decreases the duration of debuff effects by 1% per 2 points of Willpower.
-Willpower increases the duration of buff effects by 1% per point of Willpower.
-Willpower does not affect spells cast from the hero, but spells cast on the hero.
Heroes casting buff spells on themselves gain benefits from both Intelligence and Willpower since they are the caster and the target of the spell.
Only spells and abilities using the new spell system are affected by these attribute changes.

New Hidden Attribute: Wisdom
-Reduces the required experience needed to level up by 1% per two points of Wisdom.
-Cannot reduce required experience by more than 75%.
-Generates one Insight point per point of Wisdom each time the hero levels up to be converted to attribute points.
-One attribute point can be created from 14 Insight points. This conversion happens automatically each time the hero gains an Insight point, usually when they level up.
-Attribute Points can be spent on Wisdom.
Insight Points carry over from previous levels, so even heroes with low Wisdom can still generate an additional attribute point after accumulating enough Insight.
Additional attribute points generated by Wisdom can't all be spent on the primary attribute. At best, only half may be spent on them if applicable.

Hero Stats: Wisdom
Warrior: 5
Ranger: 14
Rogue: 2
Wizard: 15
Paladin: 16
Warrior of Discord: 1
Adept: 14
Barbarian: 3
Cultist: 6
Healer 17
Monk: 21
Priestess: 9
Solarus: 7
Dwarf: 8
Elf: 4
Gnome: 2
Wisdom is generated with slight variance at the hero's birth the same way other attributes are generated.

So I don't see any reason not to have at least one hero that can have Wisdom as their Primary Attribute. So what I'd like to know is: which hero do you think would be most suitable for using Wisdom as their primary Stat?

Up next: Moving all old hero spells to the new spell system.

Personality-wise the monks or wizards would seem like a good fit for wisdom... though i feel like intelligence as a primary for wizards is better. Perhaps the monk then (which you already seem to favour as they have the highest base wisdom)?

I feel the same, I'd probably throw in the Priestess as well for being a potential Wisdom candidate, if only because they have a better grasp over the nature of life and death.

Having high base points in a stat doesn't always have to indicate that it needs to be the primary for a hero. Best example of this is Paladin, who has Intelligence as her primary yet has it as her fourth highest attribute.

We also run into the problem where, currently, Monk is also the only 'real' hero with Willpower as a Primary Stat, so I'd lean towards Wizard or Priestess (or another candidate that can fit the bill) since the Intelligence stat as a primary is currently oversaturated. It might be that some heroes in general just need another look at their Primary Stat to see what fits them best, game and personality-wise.
