WAR: Unique One-Handed Weapons (A Weapons, Armor and Robes Mod)
sp0ckrates  [developer] 8 May, 2016 @ 8:40am
Enhancements and New Enchantments for the Weapons
This list shows the weapons improved by this mod, which are found in the Skyrim or obtained from quests other than Daedric Quests. (For a description of the Daedric Quest weapons improved by this mod, please see the Description page.) Wherever possible, the weapons have been leveled, which means the higher the level you reach, the better the weapon type, weapon stats or enchantments will be.

Spoiler alert: This discussion doesn't use spoiler text to hide information about quests or locations where the weapons may be obtained. Where ever possible, details of these quests have been left out, so as to not spoil too much of the surprise.

❖ Weapons Now Leveled

For leveling, the level of the weapon you obtain depends on the level your character is when the quest to obtain the weapon is started, or for weapons having no quest, on the level your character is when the weapons is discovered (when your character enters the cell where the weapon is located, but does not necessarily see or pick up the weapon). For example, if you accept the quest Grimsever's Return[en.uesp.net] at level 9, but you put off completing the quest until level 40, the stats and enchantments for the weapon Grimsever you receive will only be as good as the weapon you will receive it you finished the quest before level 12. But if you wait till level 36 to accept the quest, then the leveled Grimsever you receive will have better stats and enchantments. So it's probably best to just say, "No" to the quests until you are ready to take them on. You'll get much better leveled weapons that way!

The levels to improve the weapon material or enchantment for each leveled weapon are 1, 12, 19, 22, 27 and 36. If your character is level 36 or higher when a quest is started or the weapon is initially loaded, the weapon will likely have the best stats and enchantments the mod offers.

❖ New Enchantments and Enhancements for Each Weapon

Feel free to post comments with questions or suggestions. New enchantments and other enhancements for weapons changed by this mod other than those listed on the Description page:

Aegisbane
This ancestral weapon of the clan Shatter Shield now lives up to its family name! Instead of a common frost enchantment, it now also has a chance of ripping the shield from a foe's grasp and knocking her to the ground! Amren's Family Sword
Need a good weapon for your new character? This scimitar could be just what you need! It has the same damage as an Elven sword, but only needs a steel ingot to improve it. Why a scimitar? Well, Amren is a Redguard, and like the hold guards say, they use curved swords. To get the curved sword, simply speak to Amren[www.uesp.net] in Whiterun to begin the quest to retrieve his family sword, then borrow it awhile to use yourself. He won't mind!

✓ Weapon type: Was an iron sword. Is now a scimitar

✓ Leveled: No

✓ Weapon material: Steel

✓ Stat bonuses: Same

✓ Enchantments: None

✓ Location of, or quest to obtain the weapon: Dungeon Delving (radiant quest)[en.uesp.net]

Bolar's Oathblade
This was the weapon of the legendary dead Blade Acilius Bolar. He used it to make his last stand against the hated enemy of the Blades, the Thalmor. So the weapon is now more useful against Elves. Like the Ebony Blade, it's now a one-handed Katana, which makes sends, since that's what the Blades use in the game.

✓ Weapon type: Changed from a 2H sword to a 1H sword

Chillrend
This superior glass sword received during the Thieves Guild quests has one flaw in the vanilla game: Its frost enchantment doesn't slow it's targets. This mod remedies that. The weapon not only slows, it also slows foes one second longer and 10% more than any other frost enchanted weapon! It also has up to a 10% better chance to paralyze.

✓ Weapon type: 1H sword.

This sounds like a great mod! but are the one-handed forms of the unique weapons (Wuuthrad, Rueful Axe, etc.) still the original model? If so, I'm definitely subbin now.

Great mod man, just one question, is there any way to slightly tweak an enchantment on a weapon? Just did the ebony blade quest and the stun lock on it makes me feel like the game is way too easy now, no blocking or shield bashing because they just lay there and take it.
Thanks

Fump: Yes, I need to change that

I love this mod as it makes the named and unique weapons much more useful. But I'm a little sad none of the game's bows were touched. Would you consider making a mod to improve Skyrim's bows? Most of them are pretty underwhelming compared to the melee weapons.

Zephyr is a great example of a bow that could have been a lot better, and is the only one I have a specific suggestion for. It has a unique archery enchantment and is gained during the Lost to the Ages quest, which involves the Aetherium Forge, but its damage is average (equal to a normal Dwarven Bow) and plays no part in the quest, which is kind of shameful because of what it is and where it's gained. If it's possible, could you make the Zephyr improved via the Aetherium Forge, or it gets improved after the Lost to the Ages quest is complete?

I would just like to point out that the Weapons Material list for "Long Hammer" is unfinished.
