Smaller Large ship version?
So I had a thought, if you add research tree integration maybe add a 1x1x1 or a 2x2x1 version of the Large ship static beam drill. Make this kinda of a lower yield version that unlocks the large version and its accompanying turret. Maybe even the eventual small ship version as well.
