Critical fix for inheriting ethics and preference on newly created pops
This wasn't fixed with the recent move into 1.2, and was also glanced over in the general comments, so im hoping posting this here will help people out. The issue is in the event folder in the file playablerobots.txt and this is where trait assignment occurs.

The line NOT = { is_same_species = owner } means that this only occurs when it isn't the same species as the owner. Further down we have change_dominant_species = this. The end result is that the initialized pop is created correctly, but new ones will never be assigned.

I'm not entirely familiar with the recent 1.2 changes, but I do know that there were some changes with the addition of is_exact_same_species. For those who played this mod earlier you may remember that your initialized pops were unique from newly built pops. This is no longer the case and I suspect this coding method worked previously to rectify that discrepancy. Or the guy had a massive brainfart. It happens to the best of us.

## Removed manual editing section since I actually changed other parts around without documenting what I did. Sorry! Just dl the mega file ##

Hi, where can i find "playablerobots.txt"? It doesn't appear to be in the event folder. Maybe another event folder i'm not seeing?

Just tested it and it works still. The file I'm referring to is in your mod archive for playable robots, usually something like mydocuments/paradoxinteractive/stellaris/workshop

The names are all numbers for some reason, but it shouldnt be too hard to sort through. Open up the archive and navigate to the event folder as if it were the main stellaris folder.

Ive done this multiple times, then re-instaled the mod and tried it agin.
The mod doesnt appear on the mod page when I starts stellaris :(
Thanks for the help!
Even with a fresh install replacing the one on the zip removes the mod from my mod selection screen

I'm currently re-testing this fix and will keep y'all posted just in case it magically stops working with this 1.2 update and I look like a complete dumbass.

Could I please ask you to decribe what program you used:?
Editting/replacing the txt file results in the game not recognising the mod.
Cheers!

Using winzip all I do is: open the archive, navigate to the events folder, locate playablerobots.txt, view file or double click it (this should open notepad), change text and save, an option should pop up to update file in archive, click yes, launch stellaris and it should be fine.

Please note that redownloading the mod will overwrite the file and undo the changes. Any updates will also more than likely overwrite as well.

Same here, pulled the file, made the changes and put it back, now it does not show in the mods section.

I did these instructions and litteraly nothing changed what so ever. Now would you kindly just update the mod so that I dont have toget my hands dirty trying to figure this out?:Hire::Hire::Hire:
