Long War 2 Compatible?
Anyone confirm if this is still working/necesary with LW2? At work so can't test until tonight. Will it work, and are the LW2 classes added the the character pool customization?

Nope, Doesn't work

Actually I've gotten the chance to use it, it definitely does work. However you need to make sure you change all the heroes in your character pool to use the Long War Classes. If you don't you will end up with the vanilla classes, and that's no fun.

Nice that's what I needed to know !

It seems to work mostly. After Op. Gatecrasher, I had a Grenadier from my pool promote into a Specialist and a Sharpshooter promote into a Grenadier. Don't know what would be causing it, though, since it seemed like everyone else was promoting to the correct classes.

EDIT: Tried subscribing/unsubscribing to the mod, now it isn't working entirely. Will continue to tweak and see what's causing the issue.

Okay, so I did a full reinstall of the game. I think you need to install this BEFORE installing long war in order for it to work properly. Again not scientific, but that's just what I found. Also be sure to set your classes in the pool to Long War classes.

In my experience it only works for rookies created for Gatecrasher. Soldiers from jailbreaks, POIs, and the Black Market remain random.

This is correct, It does work. Make sure you're changing the character classes to Longwar classes which start at/after Psi trooper.

Although, I also believe d_valroth may be correct too. I had a character appear in the blackmarket as the wrong class.

It is compatible to an extent. Rookies will always promote to the proper class, but characters from the Black Market and as mission rewards, anything that rewards you an already promoted unit basically, is always random. It's a big bummer too, I kind of rely on Use My Class to make my campaigns engaging. Getting a Predator character as a LCPL Medic is enough to make me dismiss him entirely.

If the immersion is that bad, you can use the developer console to change their classes at least. There can be a penalty if you're running NQE and HP, but it's not that bad.

Unfortunately, LW doesn't have a console command that works with their classes. If you use the MakeSoldierAClass Console command, it only works with vanilla classes. Tried to change my Gunner to an Assault and it made him a vanilla grenadier. Makes this mod a near necessity.

Yes there is. The name for LW classes is "LW_className" I think. Been awhile since I played.
