How about these for inspiration:
-A creature that's a mass of tentacles given sentience
-A serpentine creature with muscular arms and legs (TROGDOR THE BURNINATOR)
-A kind of decadent space nobility that's not fat
-Half-rock, half-fungi creature that could be Blorg's distant cousin twice removed
-A creature that lives in a porous rock shell
-A creature that looks like a deep-sea fish (>inb4 blobfish race)
-More piscine creatures in general
Thanks for reading, at least!
Not sure I understand what you mean by "real life" aliens. All of those that mention are humanoid based, and therefore unrealistic for the purposes Alien Suns, unless I'm misunderstanding you.
In an alien environment, some place not "here," evolution is going to go in some wild directions, and that's what I'm attempting to reflect.
As for the "Tall Greys," you should select the Nloam as a race one of these times ;)
They are are all real life aliens though nonetheless.
Yes the my next race im going to play is going to be the Nloam / The Greys :)
The Pree might be my favourite since they fit in very well with my idea of a egyptian-like spiritualist faction with giant monolith/pyramid resembling buildings on their home planet, loads of temples and sands as far as one can see. (sorry if I dragged them through the dirt too much with that :D)
ANYWAYS... Have you considered some sort of arachnid type yet? Especially with a hivemind in thought? I know your intentions are going more towards unknown life forms and Paradox brought out their spiderlings if you buy the Nova or Galactic edition but I would like to see how such a species would look like from your perspective.
That said, though, the Ithaqgha, Nyarlakhee, and KuyRhu all would fall into that category.
