The United States Federal Highway Administration has a plethora of documentation about proper design and formatting for highway signs and markings in their Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Of particular note, this specific sign should probably be using their standard brown "for guidance to sites of public recreation or cultural interest." Specifically, FHWA Brown: Pantone 469-C[www.pantone.com] rgb(97, 51, 20)
