Glow of cloaking device visible while cloaked
I made a timer rig that turns my lights and thrusters off, cloaks, then turns my thrusters back on so there is no glowing at all. except the cloaking device. Can this be fixed please.

Balancing factor. true invisibility should not exist, only make it harder to see. turn lights off, turn off intertial dampereners

the balance factor is the high power demand, the idea of cloaking is to be invisible for stealth. Look at any movie that uses cloaking as an example...I.E. Star Trek, Stargate series, Predator movies (granted on that one the predator can be seen if close due to shimmer which I like the idea) but in general the object or character is undetectable.

if you're 100% invisible then you're overpowered. It's pretty powerful just from the fact that turrets won't fire on you

Thats the point. its an end game item. think of LOL, if you put the time and effort in you will get fed and op as hell. same as SE. put the time into mining and building you want to be op

It would just be nice if we had the option to turn the glow off for a world or server.

That's my point too. My thinking is if you enable this mod and you play a multiplayer game where others may use it against you then you enable this mod with the understanding someone may build a power effectient ship that may cloak and whoop that ass and you would have to make some sort of counter measures in game to combat that or have your own stealth fleet on stand by to enact revenge on them afterwards. They can't stay cloaked forever since the power use will burn through a modest amount of uranium or battery fairly quickly, not considering if they fire a weapon to attack while cloaked then their time will be cut into a third of what they would've had. So it's not OP to be cloaked for these reasons. Sure it'd suck to be attacked by someone using it but that's why I don't play public multplayer with this mod personally...just sayin.

I look at it as an incentive to be creative. Listen, if you are concerned about a stealth attack then build a powerful weapons array and armor your valuables (base, ship, etc) and have it standing by. So this mod encourages you to be prepared for combat at a moments notice or to hide your base in a roid if in space where as before maybe you wouldn't have before whatever. I use plenty of custom weapon mods too and if someone started shooting my base then I'd make sure to have some nasty weapons waiting and remote control em then shoot wherever the shots are coming from.

Hell just sitting here thinking about it...if I knew I would be playing online with this mod, I would strive to create a mine field (warheads + sensors or w/e) and launch a bunch on a choke point of a roid base so even if cloaked where the sensor likely wouldn't detect em, if they hit hard enough by running into it or w/e the warhead would still go off and wreak em. That would act like early warning too. So yea that literally just inspired me and thus proving my creative point.

I dont like how you can shoot and still be cloaked. but i think that shooting while being cloaked would have to be removed if your going to be 100% invisible.

Just put it out of your ship, or at least far from vital parts and the glow will not bother anymore, because if the enemy shoots at that moving light it will not really harm you...

perhaps there could be module upgrades for the cloak that change the cloak type? like a stationary cloak that gives you total invisibility but only if your ship is not moving or using weapons

Just commenting on this, but I honestly really like the bright light still visible. It encourages the cloaked ship to keep at a distance away from it's target, and, if sitting still, the light just looks like another star in the background of the skybox. It's a good balance.

If you stay over 1km they cant see the light. but i have found ways to hide the light.
