+20% faster firing speed
-15%% damage
+20% faster swing speed.

-50% draw speed
or
No damage unless backstabs.

Upon a backstab, makes a noise louder than the frying pan.

You get the idea.
Hopefully.

on kill: enemies explode into gibs
+backstabs within 15 seconds of the last add 50% damage resistance.
-emits a chainsaw ticking over noise and smoke particles for the duration of the 15 seconds
-emits a loud chainsaw noise upon a backstab

On your second stab damage is halved, on your third quartered, on your fourth eighthed, so on.
Works with the common spy tactic of "stab something and dead ringer run away" but lessens the effectiveness of it by making the stealth element significantly harder. You're forced to use trickstabs and rewarded for doing so because your position is more obvious.

The kunai adds health, but a medic or health pickups cannot help the spy chain stab because it is all overheal. This weapon uses damage resistance which allows medics and health pickups to add to the spy's longevity, but does not provide as big a bonus as the kunai to health and will not stop burns or bleeding. Thus, no overlap.

The Chain Stabber
Level --- Knife

+On Backstab Kill: Gain a increase in both movement and firing speed. Up to a max of 35%.
+On Non-Backstab Hit: Causes target to bleed for 2 seconds, dealing 5 damage per second. Multiple hits increase number of seconds. Max is 6.
-While Active: User's movement speed reduced by 30%.If max stacks are met, user 's movement speed at a bonus of 5% faster.
-While Cloaked: After a few moments of being cloaked, knife slowly increases revving noise. Rev noise is reset to silent if user uncloaks.
-30% damage penalty

Backstabing doesn't kill immediately but does 100 damage per second.
Backstabing does not cause the Spy to de-cloak
Can Backstab buildings as well.

I like these stats perfectly balanced except mabye make it holster 25% slower.

game-breaking crutch weapon, and the downsides don't counter the upsides

How so?

Spy is a pick class, which means he picks off a certain target and then runs away or hides. Removing his ability to pick classes off with certainty defies the point of the class.

-Backstabbing does not cause the Spy to de-cloak
Which allows you to abuse the dead ringer for a free speed boost and damage resistance. It also makes sneaking around alot easier, and would be infuriatingly difficult for every other class to deal with.
Imagine building a sentry and suddenly dying out of nowhere. Do you think that would be fun? Because that's what would end up happening.

-Can Backstab buildings as well
After dying suddenly, all your buildings explode instantly too. How fair.
Buildings would be too easy to backstab, especially if you can remain cloaked as well. You could clear out an entire sentry nest by just walking into it and mashing m1, and the sapper would lose any usefulness.

I mistook cloak and disguise. My bad.

You can't stab all of the buildings at the same time, stabbing only does 100 damage per second and the Engi still gets a warning when his buildings receive damage.

If the buildings are unattended, they are pretty easy to sap as well.

cons-must be reved to stab up revving makes noise

plus- +50% fire rate +30% building damage
ripmagoo 23 Jun, 2016 @ 1:48pm
*Silent Killer* ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) (kappa)

Or, y'know -
+ 25% More Damage
+ 25% More Damage Per Second
- 25% Slower Deploy Rate
- Loud af
- No Disguise, because it's a chainsaw that does a lot of damage. Go Michael Myers on 'em.

You're undetectable by sentries and can kill level threes in under 2 seconds. If the engineer does not reach his sentry in under two seconds it is a lost cause. If he is using any wrench other than stock, even more so.
You never mentioned that you can't stab them all at the same time. Is that a feature, or do you mean that a spy couldn't backstab everything in a nest? Because I assure you they can.
Even so, having to wait less than 2 seconds (at MOST) to stab the next building isn't that long of a wait.

The fact remains that it is stronger than the sapper and nowhere near as easy to counter a sapper.
How do you stab multiple things at once?
And no Lv3 Sentries have over 200 hp.

How is it stronger the sapper?
Xeronious 25 Jun, 2016 @ 5:19am
+ gibs enemy on critical death (no screams)
+ 100% damage on buildings where a sapper is aplied

- louder attack sounds
- 15% attack speed

How to stab lots of things:
-press m1
-press a movement key relevant to the position of the next object
-press m1 again

Sentry health goes from 150-180-216 from level 1-3. All level 3 sentries have over 200 health.
It's stronger because it has a much higher dps than a sapper and sentries are piss easy to backstab. I'm quite sure you'd also have to code in buildings having a "back" in the first place, which is obviously too much work for volvo.
You think you're way smarter than you are and you sound like a douche.

You go there and stick the chainsaw in the Sentry, that's it, the Engi only get's the damage alert but you don't lose your disguise so he has to Spycheck you. That's the point.
Picking people is not as hard as well. The kind of people who won't notice you in their back with the Kunai is the same type of people who won't be able to turn and get you with ease.
I used the term backstab because of the motion the Spy does with his arm. But sure, if you wanna get technical, the back of the Sentry is the part where you would rather to be.
