ENGINES AREN'T ON:

you actually need to turn your engines on with the jetpack key.
what about if the rotor keep spinning for no reason?

Make sure you have all 6 Nacelles and press "start" on the timer to run the script with default arguments, that works for me ;)

you can have as mmany as you like. if you want you can have 1 but you will have a hard time balancing it :)

but yeah, make sure the CoM is lined up with the nacelles if you want it to not spin like crazy

if your rotors are spinning, it might be a couple of things from what i can think of.
1. your timer isn't running the script constantly
2. you are on a p2p server. there is something about the netcode on those that doesn't work with my script.

not sure why, but if you tell it to show CoM it will be covered by blocks. this makes it a lot harder to do anything with the CoM although it is still possible. i had to cut holes into the Deterrent to see the CoM.

to show CoM you go to the info tab, then check the box to show Centre of Mass

Is there any way to use the script without balancing around CoM? Like using 6 nacelles but also having stationary thrusters to keep the ship from tipping?

@HardBoiledBananas you could put gyros on override but it would make the problem worse when you are facing any other direction than what you design it for. i cant do anything about it until programmable blocks have access to see the CoM

You are the problem, that's what it is.

Ok, so what I am trying to do is build a mining-helicopter using this script. I have 2 nacelles - one on the left and one on the right. They are lined up with the center of mass (which I had to locate by flying into the blocks with spectator mode) and named them all properly. I also have the controls setup and the timer ticking every second (though it beeps much more often because you told us to have it trigger AND start itself). I also have 2 side thrusters on each side, but they rarely have to do any corrections when I'm in the air.

Results:
When I first started everything up on Mars the rotors spinned like crazy. I then went to Earth and the Alien and the rotors stayed relatively stable and ever since that it now also works on Mars. I am not sure why. BUT, even though the thrusters do keep me in the air, they don't put me at 0m/s. I am constantly moving forward at 11-20m/s and I am also constantly moving upwards a bit. If I press %deccelerate, the craft actually seems to speed up a bit in a similar motion. And when I press%accelerate, the craft slows it's motion by a few m/s, but it never comes to a full stop.

I am impressed that pressing W actually moves the rotors to accelerate me forwards more, even though I don't have the control mod in this world.

P.s.: When I press W the thrusters point forward, but also down a bit. And when I press SPACE (for up), the thrusters point up, but also a bit forward. Maybe that is a bit of a hint as to what's wrong. The angles that are supposed to be neutral seem to be shifted a bit.

omg steam doesn't collapse spoilers

ok, so the upward drift means that you are either in creative with it set to survival, or you are in survival and the cargo multiplier is lower than your world setting.

as for moving forwards, i have no idea. are you using a gamepad or mouse&keyboard?

replace the workshop program with this:
http://pastebin.com/7DCMRPd2
it should print the movement vector out in the menu of the PB

idling, it should be [0,0,0]
