I know why (-70% energy and minerals, go mine all the planets in ur new borders to sustain yourselves) youve given them so much land to work with, but i think its a bit too much, i cant even imagine how much land ill get with the first 2 20% border upgrades, then the 10 repeating.
I think nerfing the extrusion to like 100% or something and buffing their mineral/energy output in comparison would be good.
Im liking how they feel in combat, good armor, good evasion, good health, generally a good all-rounder. Makes you go for the long range kinetic option, breaks up the tachyon lance monotony which is nice.
Habitability is not a issue for me, since the mods im using, my bad im such a poor tester lol. I use the "Tiered Traits" mod and another that gives me a total of 6 trait picks to choose from. Im also using the "Expanded Habitibility" mod as well.
I'll keep this save going til later in the game, but I feel like space pirates can go toe-to-toe with any of the EM's, ill see if thats actually the case tho.
- I think my numbers are slightly broken here. https://imgur.com/a/g4LfE . 10% to cruiser build speed, 300 to battleships -20 to corvettes, ect, it just seems a bit all over the place and im getting no cost reduction on small ships.
All in all, I like em, a really nice addition to a already great mod, good work :D. I didnt think id like them that much for some reason, but ive changed my mind , theyre pretty great. Just need a few tweaks here and there is all.

You say "constantly misunderstood". Does that even do anything at the moment? If not i think making a negative ai opinion modifier would be good.
And my final thought for now is, 100% emergency ftl damage. I dont think it should be 100%. Rift walkers have 100% and theyre the most technologically advanced in the galaxy. These are pirates. It should be pretty high, like around 60-80%, but i think full reduction is giving them a bit too much.
Most of the upkeep and cost reductions are correct, but they do look a bit messy. The idea was fast/small ships get a cost reduction and as you move up the tiers of size they cost more and more to encourage small fast fleets to maneuver around the galaxy.
100% Emergency ftl damage is probably too much I agree.

P.S. constantly misunderstood was indeed a placeholder for a negative ai relation modifier for trust growth (I just haven't looked up the line for trust yet)
What I found is that though you get the -60% energy from planet production; This I totaly understand and accept as intended. However you also get a negative to the energy produced from stations..
I just started;so I only have 8 energy being minned by stations, and only reciving 3.2 of that. not that I can't work around that but if the intend of the EM was to have few planets but still maintain a large fleet, we need those stationsmaking up for all those crappy planets
I have not done the math on the minerals yet, but I am guessing it is the same.
One way to compisate this if it is intended, is perhaps to let the pirate EM raid others for energy amd minerals, or have enemies drop them and recive energy and minerals instead of research. come to think of it that may take to much coding... but still would be cool if possible

as for the energy/mineral station output... I just logged out but I will go back in and take a couple screenies. to see if I can catch what you need.

if I did my math right, I should be getting 47 energy from my stations. I know that is not a lot. but over 50 years if I had full energy and minerals (yes minerals are doing the same), I belive my income would be MUCH higher. SO her is hopping you can fix it :)

This is the current modifiers for space pirates, nothing indicates a reduction in energy for stations.
