I am taking a lot of inspiration from Lucerne, Switzerland which works nicely with the central lake bulge. Tried both your and <<FSF>>Ranger's themes and am currently using the satellite LUT with the Alpine Theme. While I enjoyed both I feel like his theme allows you to get an ambiance/environment that feels more like my target area/season, with a bit lighter more sun-basked, warm-season color. I think the rich, deep forest green colors seem best suited to a cold season build (or maybe this is a slight difference from Austria?).
Couple quick comments for you:
- As an up-and-coming landscaper, I would recommend to scale back the number of trees a bit so it's a bit farther from the limit. I deleted a bunch of trees near the map borders and lightened some of the very dense areas a bit with a very low-strength application of the landscaping tools with (what I think is) low impact on the aesthetics. I think I was actually able to improve the map slightly by targeting the higher-density trees in the high elevation areas for deletion and adding back a light application to some of the medium-elevation high-altitude areas.
- Noticed an issue where I don't appear to be getting any tourist or cargo rail traffic. Don't know if you know of or if anyone else may have identified this problem (it could be very well something I broke myself). That said I tried to troubleshoot the linkage by testing the line; I set up a test station near the border of the map with the source rail line connected to my main station and no problem setting up a local route. As far as simple things I definitely have a couple of attractions and commercial area with no industry zoned as of yet so I think those basic things are ruled out. Any ideas what could be going wrong??
It's a bit early at the moment to share anything interesting but will definitely post some pictures as it continues to come along!
Thanks for creating this great map. Are you working for Cities Skylines now?? Congratulations!
