The United Front vs Own Initiative
Do those focuses have any long term impacts like hidden future events? As far as I can tell you either boost Nationalist China or boost yourself with those focuses. Why would you ever take United Front over the own initiative then? Sure Nat. China has more troops, but in the end thanks to Hoi IV AI, it's better for you to have the buff yourself.

So are there any future impacts of those focuses?

If you're playing as the Chinese Soviet, it's pretty cool to go United Front. At the end of the war you get Dongbei and it gifts a metric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of elite troops. You also get some bonuses and neither of you can join foreign factions.

I'm talking about the focuses which give you or Nat. China boni. You can join the Untied Front regardless.

I prefer the United Front-the Border war is irritating to me. Plus, with the PRC not threatening to attack, I can concentrate on building up defenses against Japan.
