This suggestion will obviously be pretty huge, but I just wanted to throw it out there as food for thought.
Making a galaxy map that's actually the Earth Space. The center of the galaxy being earth, and every "star system" is a location such as A Baoa Qu, Side 7, the Shoal Zone etc. Like I said, probably a huge project being that you would have to change all the visual assets on the galaxy map to look like the Earth Sphere, but this would be a good way to actually set up a One Year War (and others) scenario and have it play out pretty well. It would also allow you to have plenty of locations to fight over such as having an entire Side of colonies that are habitable. Or having strategic zones to capture in say like a Solomon "star system."
This would be a pretty big overhaul so like I said, food for thought.
If I had any ability to mod beyond fixing line code I'd probably jump right on this. So this is really just me sort of daydreaming I suppose.
