Reverse No Mercy is largely what it claims to be in the title: a reversed version of No Mercy, where you start on the roof of Mercy Hospital, and have to make your way back to the apartment for a helicopter evacuation (oddly).

However, don’t think that you’ll automatically know everything about this map, as there are some twists and tricks to make it compelling.

The Finale is a tough Defend-Tank-Defend-Tank in the cramped space of the opening apartment, and the Tanks (seemingly) were speed-boosted, making it even more difficult. There was also notably an extra skylight added to the apartment’s roof, thus allowing Tanks, Specials, and Commons to flank you from the kitchen area. There’s also a mounted gun on the roof island, which can be used to AI manipulate the Tanks, but is otherwise uselessly-placed.


For some other custom flavour variants of No Mercy, you should also check out ‘Fairfield Terror’ (a faithful recreation of No Mercy from the Left 4 Dead 1 Beta, which I previously rated 8.5/10 for Quality), and 'No Mercy Rehab' (an interesting rework that is effectively a sidegrade to vanilla No Mercy, which I previously rated 9/10 for Quality).
