Do you mean SHIELD HIT? I also love this perk but one thing i have to do is to make the damage based on the eqipped weapon tier for balancing. For now it is just random. Thanks for your feedback.

Well honest i've played alot of tanks for long war, and i can say that they could use a little more help early game just a little stronger would help them alott.

Really like this class, untouchable is good saved my soldiers life a few times but pre-Fire better suits this class...Tank; tough in battle. This is one of my go to classes now like the balance with the other perk pack classes really good job you did imo. The core of the Tank class is solid hope you don't change it, close combat in-fighting, pre-fire, ever-safe, hella-tough in battle. The close-combat or infighting I believe is what its called is excellent as well as pre-fire. Survival instinct is good to this unit takes a beating. Cool under pressue is good as well not vanilla imo given this units class. Like to see what ideas are in store for this unit.

Hello, I am happy you like this class. The next perk will be something like Return Fire but with the primary gun. I can implement it (I already have the ability) but i need more testing for combination with other abilities. Also i will not change the core of the tank. His abilities and tree is balanced for drawing enemy fire and have the appropriate abilities to survive and/or counter the enemy attacks. I am interested in how do you like the PRE FIRE ability and do you had problems with it or was everything smoothly? thanks
dmc32 24 Jul, 2016 @ 3:52pm
Phantom, PRE FIRE works really good, the Tank took out 3 Chryssalids, not the vanilla brand either. With close combat fighting and pre fire the Tank is bonafide. The combat drugs don't seem to work well for me though perhaps I'm not using them right. It's a strong front-line unit please don't rush to change it into a soft vanilla unit its solid works well with a gunner or some ot the other solid units in the perk pack. I have a couple of go to classes and this is becoming one of them.

Phantom, you were thinking about adding Return Fire with the primary weapon. What would the Tank loose for Return Fire?
Phantom  [developer] 4 Aug, 2016 @ 3:07pm
It is not fix now. I think it will be a seargent perk.
Phantom  [developer] 4 Aug, 2016 @ 3:09pm
Probably masochist or a lw vanilla perk. Also i am thinking of buffing self control for somethink like steadfast. I have to look how it can be done.

Hello! Just released an update. I hope you are okay with the new ability order. I hope you have to make hard decisions :D
dmc32 31 Aug, 2016 @ 6:18pm
Phantom, like the new changes to the Tank the core is still rock solid. Interesting game the other day I used the Tank as a mid range sharp-shooter! Worked out very well. Wasnt my oringinal intent but the unit shot so well I scrapped the infighting and used another troop for that. That's a freebie, a Tank with squadsight but that might be too OP and you'd have to take a core ability away.
Phantom  [developer] 1 Sep, 2016 @ 2:28am
Interresting... how does he have squadsight? AWC? also he cannot equipp sniper rifle. So the downside of the tank is that he has lower aim than other classes. Do you think i have to reduce it more?
dmc32 1 Sep, 2016 @ 3:15pm
No, he didnt have squadsight but the unit was shooting so well from midrange that I used it that way. The unit wasn't using a sniper rifle just shooting extremely well. It's actually good versatility. I simply suggested a scenario with "Tank" unit with squadsight. Everything is good as it is, great job, don't change athing.

Hi, I've been using this class and while I wasn't too fond of it at first because of X2's offense meta, I have grown to like it more over time given its versatility despite being a "defensive" class--namely its ability to hack if a specialist goes down, to use assault rifles and cannons, and to be able to take a hit in the case of an emergency.
I think the class functions well in its role, but I personally would like to see this class become restricted to cannons and rifles. I think this would cement its role as a defensive class, though apart from ammo capacity cannons are better than rifles in every way. I think the ability to wield shotguns in a large way mitigates the aim penalty they have naturally, since shotguns can have 100% to-hit at point-blank range regardless of soldier aim. If the intention is to make the class a breacher, though, then the inverse should be done and the cannon should be removed and the shotgun retained.
If the cannon is the way to go, I think this class should get Suppression as well, since the tank's theme is sort of that it stops the team from taking damage. This would be a good replacement for Close Quarters Specialist, I feel, but only if shotguns get taken out of their loadout.
I like the class overall and feel it adds a unique role that literally no other class can do well. I would also think about adding more armor bonuses throughout the Tank's progression so that he can further soak damage.
Apart from that, it got me thinking about how the Specialist is literally the only class I know of that can hack. I dunno if you're in the business of making new classes, but if you made one that could effectively hack but had a different flavor, that would be really cool. Like maybe a Partisan class that got a choice between hit & run tactics (like the Sidewinder from LW Alien pack) and explosives, to diversify the role a bit (no combat protocol, probably), just as an example. But if you know of another good LW class that can hack I would love to know about it.

Hello thanks for your feedback. I think it is difficult to restrict one of the weapons. Because one like it with shotguns as a breacher or close combat unit and the other one like it as midrange unit. I can understand your point of view and the shotgun aim is an interesting point. Also know that even if the aim penalty is low with shotguns on close range, be aware that, that means you have to get close to an enemy and shoot which will cost all actions that the tank have. That also means you get one shot with good accuracy but you will not be able to use for example protection protocol. It is true that the canon deals more damage if you hit, but the canon has also other range penalties than the normal rifle and has lower ammo. So based on how you promote the tank the weapon has to be choosen. I think adding more armor would be to op, because the tank has the highest hit point progression of all LW classes without his perks. I am not planning to do another class because it cost really much time. I will update this one and maybe in future if this class is in my eyes finished i will maybe do another one. For hacking classes you can search in my "All solo soldier classes" collection. There you will find some hacking classes you can try out.
