Extraction not working?
Im having a blast playing your missions. But the help extraction never seems to work. The hell will just fly around indefinitely until I quit. Am I missing something?

Also, have you considered increasing the amount of objectives to more than 3? Maybe 5?

In any event, keep up the great work!

Hi toast,

Are you giving the heli a place to land using the map? It might possibly refuse to land if coming under direct fire so maybe there are lots of enemy in the area still? I'll see what I can do about making it ignore enemies if that's the case.

I won't be expanding the number of objectives at the moment as they're balanced based on the AO sizes but there's the possibility of changing that in the future.

Thanks!

I should have clarified, I get the heli to land, and I'm able to board it, but the few times I've tried (and I haven't played the maps alot), it doesn't seem to end the match.

From reading in another post, the heli needs to leave the AO in order for it to end? So any vehicle will suffice? Maybe I didn't wait long enough, but after several minutes, it seemed like it wasn't going to work.

Another time, the heli landed, took some enemy fire, and took off. I requested a second pick up, and a second heli ended up coming to pick me up, and this one just ended up flying around in circles.

I'll experiement some more and report back.

Thanks for the response.
ok so bear with me here im not the smartest person on earth lol, but how would i get the heli. to land do i jsut mark it on the map like a marker? or is it something else thanks also great job with these missions ive replayed the cherno one like 15 times XD

Just kill the pilots or get a car and leave the AO make sure all friendly NPC squad members are with you when you try to leave.

toast - I think I might have responded to you elsewhere (sorry, keeping up with the comments is getting harder as I add more maps!), but for clarification: yeah, you need to leave the AO and however you manage that is up to you. You can choose to ignore the heli support completely.
Once you or whoever called the heli support gets into the landed heli they should get a radio message and a prompt as an extension of the support menu that will tell the heli where to extract to. You'll want to open the map and pick somewhere outside the AO.

CATDELNORRIS - Yup! Once you've activated the heli support it'll ask you to choose a location on the map to arrive, and as mentioned, a location to extract to once you're in the heli. Cheers!

I posted in a few different places, so my apologies for the confusion.

Maybe that's what I'm missing though. I get the support menu prompt to "transmit take off" or something similar, and that's when the issue occurs. I have never seen a prompt indicating where I'm supposed to extract to; but I haven't been looking for it either. You're saying that I need to choose a place on the map to extract to, PRIOR to transmitting take off?

Thus far, I've just kept the starting vehicle in good condition, and used to that to extract. However, it feels a little anti-climatic doing this, since you see a lot of counter-resistance truck and parachute in; making it seem like you need to hold off until extraction arrives.

toast, just tell the helicopter to go anywhere outside of the AO (rectangle surrounding objectives on the map).

Guys, this is just BI's heli transport module. You should have a play with it in the editor if you are unfamiliar with it.

You call it using the number keys in the same way as you call for other supports in the game, and in previous arma games. It is important to find a large open space and make sure all enemy in the area are dead or the heli may not land.

Once the heli lands get your AI team mates onboard first. The player should get on last to avoid leaving them behind. You will be asked for a transport location once onboard. Click anywhere on the map outside of the AO and the heli will start to fly there. The mission will end once the player has left the mission area. Easy.

What worked for me was commanding my sqaud to get in the heli and it landed

just to pitch in, more often than not my mate and I have the problem that one of us (usually me) needs to enter the heli, then get back out and back in before it's lifted off after the scripted messages appear.
Get in -> scirpted messages -> get out, heli starts taking off -> quickly get back in

I wasn't actually clicking on the map when I got into the heli after extraction; that was the issue. I thought that "transmitting take-off" or whatever it prompts would send the heli to a pre-designated area. Now that I realize this, I haven't had any issues with extraction.

Heh I read over that you had to do that, sorry. I know now!

On a side-note; I wish extraction was available much earlier, perhaps from the get go.
Sometimes, objectives are FUBAR (like blowing up a building and the objective not triggering, or intel being in a building that is 'accidentally' blown up by artillery and not being able to pick up the intel thereafter!) and it would be nice to be able to extract and end the mission with at least some of the objectives succeeded. :)

@Bucketsmith, you can remove objectives by canceling them from the tasks list and when all missions are completed or canceled you can call the extraction.
