Cosmetic Idea Thread!
Okay, so I haven't seen any other cosmetic idea threads on the Frontline Collection Forum (well, apart from some 1-comment post ffrom a week ago) so, I'm going to start it here:

By the way, I'm a huge WW2 buff, and I've always wanted a WW2 update like this, so I've got a lot good ideas

However, a lot of ideas have already been made into reality by some of the excellent modders here, so i'm going to say the ones that dont exist yet:

1.) A WW2 French Officer Uniform set for the spy, consisting of a Kepi (hat), a uniform tunic with Sam Browne Belt, pouches, canteen, and revolver holster, breeches and boots (or trousers and dress shoes-both were used by French officers during WW2, but the trousers probably go better with the Spy, as they are closer to his original appearence), a military dagger, and a Modele 1892 Revolver (the main revolver used by French Forces in WW2). The set goes along with Spy's nationality, and could provide an interesting backstory for him-I was actually thinking about this a few days ago and came up with one-long story short, Spy started out as a 20-30 year old French Infantry or Artillery Officer-Lieutenant or Captain-at the Maginot Line (he looks like he's in his 40s or 50s in-game, which is set around 1970, so probably between 25 and 30 by 1941), and survived his fort/post's destruction at the hands of the Germans, maybe as one of or the only surivior of his battalion. He escaped into the countryside, and, as a wanted survivor of the French Military once his country surrendered, learned that the only way to survive was to stay in the shadows, and that revenge must be taken out methodically, and so he chose to sabotage the Nazi war machine, not for the Allies or the OSS, not even for the resistance, but for revenge for the killing of his entire battalion, his friends. No one ever knew the Spy's identity, as he made sure to leave no witnesses. Armed with only his service revolver and the dagger of a German stormtrooper he killed during his escape, he managed to silently kill dozens of Nazi sentries, and disabled countless german vehicles and bases. After the war ended, the Spy rejoined the Army, but found it to be very different from the one he remembered, led and made up of resistance fighters, civilians, rather than actual soldiers, veterans. He soon left the army and turned to the work he did best-assassinations. However, one day, a woman he had seen back in WW2, a former American OSS agent who had tried to recruit him before, scheduled an appointment with him, and offered him a deal: be hired and work with her as a "mercenary" in exchange for advanced equipment such as invisivility watches and disguise kits. The spy agreed, and hid his old uniform and weapons in a footlocker, and locked his old past away..until now.

Okay, so maybe that whole thing was less about cosmetic ideas and more about story, but hey, I thought pretty hard about that, and had wanted to write that story down for a while. ANd that's just a shortened version-I'll probably post the whole thing on the normal TF2 forum.

2.) This is far simpler, and my original idea for this thread-a couple of medals made from bottlecaps and scrap metal for the soldier, based on his wiki biography-the "medals he made and awarded to himself" for his one-man fight and rampage in Europe during WW2-read the wiki, and, now that i'm thinking about this, why didn't valve add this already?

Yeah, that's all for now. But seriously, use this thread to post YOUR ideas, and hopefully someone with a lot of modelling skills (something I completely lack) could bring these ideas to life.

That's all for now fokes
