Misc. MAI

possible conflict with a mod that caused me to run out of steel!
Built my first two robots and all was fine then i noticed the hotbars were popping up in odd spots of the screen instead of bottom middle when they were selected. Because of this i could no longer tell them what to do things since the popup window would not appear. During all this i somehow ran out of steel! that never ever happens. Afterwhile i noticed the gear on the MAI had a rediculous amount of shield belts equiped. I had my colony maintain a qty of 3 shield belts and the robots kept equipping them as they were made. I do not believe this is bug with MAI but a conflict with [1.0] RPG Inventory since the inventory of the Robot only shows in list view whereas the other colonists can show in the RPG inventory view. Now i am desperately waiting for a combat supplier to keep passinng buy so i can clear my stockpile of those shield belts. To fix the shield belt issue i just assigned them as soldiers and they just stood there dropping shield belts until they were done.

I also thought it was due to RPG style inventory however I've disabled that mod and still have it happen. I haven't figured out the culprit for myself yet but basically if MAI is set to equip items on the belt or hand/foot inventory slots MAI will just keep equipping them. I figured it was due to Change Dresser mod, which I also used to deal with the problem.

MAI has base outfits (soldier/worker) that DO NOT allow items on the problem slots AND THEN a custom outfit that uses those items (custom outfits in change dresser uses force wear mechanism).

In your case it doesn't look like you are using Change Dresser mod so I would set up a custom outfit for MAI and then force equip the belt you want MAI to use.

This also (seemingly) eliminates Change Dresser as a culprit so thanks for that data point.

I've seen that hotbar thing before (not related to MAI) but don't recall what the cause was, it's been a long while since I saw it. Kinda curious though if you drafted MAI then unequipped all but one shield belt...
