Automatic mortars cease to work.

My 2 automatic mortars seem to not to do,well,mortaring. they can only fire when Line of sight is achieved and thats a issue as i have mountains surrounding me. but i have a friend who has mortars set up similarly to me,but no issue with shooting over walls and such. any assistance?
