How's balance feel?
Hey folks,

When I initially made these new spells/abilities, I had balanced them for my battle overhaul. I quickly re-did the stats here to hopefully fit with the vanilla game, but I can't be sure it's perfect.

Please let me know how the balance of the new spells and abilties feel!

Generally speaking, I feel like maybe the marks are a wee bit OP at present, but maybe not by much. Mark of Slaanesh in particular seems to verge on OP: a slight reduction in melee defence doesn't affect how powerful the speed bonuses are. I mean, it's true to the fluff, so I like it a lot, so it's a small complaint. On the other hand, I find Nurgle a bit underpowered, and the drawback isn't much either -- it's easily the most "meh" of the marks. Tzeentch is really nice, as is Khorne: the drawbacks seem reasonable (esp. the power reductions for Khorne, which is just the right flavour I think).

Overall, really good stuff. Thanks for making it.

Bolt of change is a bit ridiculous , you can snipe enemy general in 2-3 hits..

Yeah that's a recent change. CA re did explosion and projectiler mechanics so I've got to re balance the damage spells

OK, glad it's not just me. I one-shot a Level 1 Varg Lord with it. Mind you, it was hilarious as hell, so...

Haha, yeah it's tough to get right. CA changed the way explosion damage is calculated behind the scenes. So what was before a very simple matter of playing with 2 damage variables, now there are like 4 or 5 variables that can affect explosion damage.

It's tricky balancing spells because we don't know exactly how the game is doing the math. An explosion with a damge value of only 1, but a high detonation, force, etc, can wipe out entire units. It's hard to find the right spot between worthless and "atomic bomb" without knowing how the game works things out.
