New .ini settings
Thank you very much for adding .ini settings for the Redwood Feeding Trough!

however, the range setting at least does not seem to work. I have copied and pasted the new .ini settings into the gamesettings.ini file (at the bottom). I have tried 4000, 8000 and 20000 as range options but nothing seems to change no matter how far out I put the distance. What am I doing wrong?
thanks for your time,
Sophi

Hi Sophi, the range setting should be working. I've just tested the range of my ingame troughs with the ini setting at 4000 and then at 8000, both settings adjusted the range properly. The only thing i can think of is to check that you put it in the correct ini file, or the mod may have been corrupted while updating and needs to be reinstalled. I don't have a solution for it sorry. If you get it working i'd be interested to know what was causing the problem.

Does setting the range to 1000 extend the range to a total of 3000 or reduce it to half (1000)?

gameusersettings.ini

[RedwoodFeedingTrough]

RFTInventorySlots=350
RFTSpoilMultiplier=20000
RFTFeedingRange=8000

nakormah, the range can only be increased because it's not allowing negative values to make it smaller, so anything under around 2000 won't decrease the range. Setting it to 3000 would be around 1.5x range, 4000 would be around 2x range, etc. I'm looking for another way to allow downscaling the range as well as upscaling it.
I have similar issue as o0chiosa0o, I am able to change the number of slots, but there is no effect on range and spoil multiplier.

The range appears to be working for us on our server. The only thing that could be causing confusion is that the feeding trough indicator over dino's names only stays within the default trough range. But they are all still feeding in the range we set in the .ini.

TayTay, Thanks for the feedback on the range working for you. The trough icon should always appear whenever they are in feeding range, at any range you set the trough at. The dino's may need to re-enter feeding range to refresh the icon, placing the trough down again should work.
When I was testing this, I did pick up the trough and placed it again, but it didn't change anything about the icon. I didn't try to take the animals out and back in the trough range though. However, this still doesn't answer the question about spoiling timer. In my test I changed it from 20000 to 40000, but there was no change in the timers. Even in this case I picked up the trough and placed it again.

I may have identified what's causing the trough icon to not appear past the default range for some players, and possibly the spoil timer. It looks like an ini setting replication issue where the icon is only visible outside default range server side, or to the host of a non-dedicated multiplayer session. Singleplayer mode doesn't have this problem.

I've been trying to get the range icon to display properly when using a custom ini value but it's giving me trouble at the moment. The spoil timer setting seems to work in a non-dedicated multiplayer session, but if it's not working for you I'll keep looking into it (possibly not replicating also). My knowledge in this area is limited so I need to research a bit more on how to connect it in the blueprint graph so that it replicates properly. I'll let you know if I make any progress.

Not that I know much about modding, but could a range setting on the interaction menu work?
Like there is on follow range on pets, have like 3-4 settings there to choose from.
As a work around and as a bonus could let people have different ranges based on the location and their wishes for respawn/feeding ranges.
