Redwood Feeding Trough

incresed range is nice but...
First of all thank you so much for this lovely and simple mod ;) however your last update have given me some issues... since we are a few people on my server, all of us have placed our fish eating animals in a corner so we can give them fish without the rest of the animals eating all the fish meat...

with this range increse it would seem that we need to make out buildings quite a lot bigger to avoid all the animals eating the fish meat rather than the ordinary raw meat... and the fish eaters thereafter starving...

is it possible to add a server setting for this? or perhaps an ingame thingie where you can set the range? would be even better...

your increased feeding range has stopped resource respawn on the whole damn map!!! we need a way to adjust the range in the .ini file please!
i've been going through all kinds of hell the last few days trying to fix my respawn problem only to find it was the redwood troughs all along :(

Confirming no respawn of resources no matter the wait time or distance if trough is placed.

Definitely need to make this adjustable!!

Agreed. Nothing is respanwing around any of the bases on my server.

At worst, it would be nice if there was a "show range" option so we could see what areas are covered by each feeding trough. Failing that, please tell us what the range is so we could manually measure it.

same issue here, love the mod, hoping for a fix:)

here's a way to guestimate - take an s+ trough and look at it's default range which is 35 foundations and imagine about 4 times that....

i've gone to regular troughs in my main base cause my gathering nodes are right in my yard so even the s+ trough is too much. the regular trough doesnt affect respawn at all. then i made a whole bank of s+ fridges and increased the slot count to 300 to accomodate all the stuff i've stored in the redwood troughs. i still absolutely love the redwood troughs for the areas that are far from where i'm gathering though.

I've decided that I'm going to remove Redwood Feeding Troughs from my server due to this issue.

Unfortunately, not yet.

Yeah, I'm going to remove mine from my base. Hopefully something can be done to make this an adjustable feature in the future.

The trough does appear to be stopping respawns roughly to the edge of its feeding range, I placed a trough in a wooded area, cleared all the trees to beyond its range and waited for the respawn. Only trees at the edge of the feeding range started to respawn.
Its as if the trough is acting like a huge foundation.

I believe it's an ARK thing, and not unique to this mod. I saw one of the other trough mods says that resources won't respawn in the range.

Yes, they all have a range. But an unadjustable 400% increase is too much in some cases. We need an option like low, med, high.. For now the servers I use, most folks have gone back to normal ones and have increased our fridge space.

that's correct it is an ARK thing, if you look at the discussion in s+ the creator says that its a game thing and nothing he can do about it (respawn that is). however s+ does allow .ini adustments to range so don't know why we couldn't have that for the redwood troughs also - being able to see the range of the trough would help as well.
