Prices...
I'm trying to make a collection for starbound that me (and maybe a few friends) can play. I want the collection to consist of all of the greatest mods on starbound, and the ones that add the most content and are the most fun in general. But here is my problem, I feel like the mechs are a little underpriced at Penguin Pete's. I mean, the hoverbikes cost over 10000 pixels each, and all they do is shine lights and have a horn.The hoverbikes look awesome, don't get me wrong, but I think since the hoverbikes have so little functionability for that price, and the mechs are so overpowered despite being cheaper (Some of them). Considering the cheapest mech is something like 7000, I think that is a little overpowered, as 7000 is obtainable really easily early game and I feel like they should cost a lot more (My personal opinion).

Is there a way that I can manually change the price of these mechs to whatever I want? Such as changing some values in the files or something like that...

I honestly think this mod is awesome, by far one of the best starbound mods out there, but for such a small price and so much damage output, explosives and being pretty much invincible while in them, is a bit overpowered.

Again, I don't mean to hate on the mod ; it's truly amazing, I just want to find a way to change the pixel values at Pirate Pete's so that you need a bit more of a grind to acctually get them, and so that it is a lot more rewarding for saving up for them.

I'm also looking for a way to modify the price of the mechs, as well as some other things about them, but I can't seem to find anything relating to price anywhere in these lua's, I'm really confused

As well as prices, I also want to change the durability of the mechs so that it's smaller, and so that they can acctually get destroyed. I don't mind the dmg as it is, but the fact that it's pretty much indestructible is another drawback to the collection i want to make for me and a friend.

I completely agree here, I really want to use this mod, but I can't because my friends and I will exploit it even when we say we wont. They are too easy to get, and way too strong. Be nice if you need to do a special quest for penguin pete to be able to buy mechs.

I completely agree with this! A quest for the mechs to become available sounds like a good idea. :steamhappy:

why there is no quest

when you add a quest to a player, that player becomes linked with that quest
if you then remove the mod that gives that quest, the character becomes unplayable
(may have changed with cheerful giraffe, not going to test tho)

so, cool quest and broken chars, or easy add/remove of mod and no broken chars?
decision was super easy.
i really don't want 65,000 people p!ssed at me for breaking their game ;)

price editing

to modify pricing of the mechs requires editing 12 files: (2 for each mech)
/recipes/tabularasa/xsm_*****.recipe -- edit the "money" line (can skip if don't have tabula rasa)
/items/active/vehiclecontrollers/xsm_*****.activeitem -- edit the "price" line

if you come up with a decent set of prices, share them and i may use them
prices were based on their old crafting requirements in Glad beta

armor values will probly be getting tweaked this weekend so mechs arent so super invulnerable - have another vehicle mod to finish first tho

Ok, cool. Is there any chance that you could do a second version of the mod with a quest included? (or even as an addon?) I personally don't mind breaking my characters if it means we get a cool quest. :P
