  1. Make sure Starbound is not running.
  2. Subscribe to a character creator extender mod if you don't already have one: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=729426722
  3. Subscribe also to this mod.
  4. Watch and wait carefully for Steam to decide to download.
  5. When that's done, start Starbound from Steam, with the play button. If you start Starbound from outside of Steam it won't see the Workshop mods.
  6. In the title screen, click the gear button in the corner.
  7. Confirm that all the expected mods are listed.
  8. Click "Start Game".
  9. Click "Create Character".
  10. If you saw the extender mod listed, you should have more than seven species buttons. One of them should be the felin.
  11. The rest is as usual.
