Why won't the first main quest start?

How do I get past "Getting Started"

Idk if I had any mods that are conflicting with the quest but after I was told to go to the cavern and "Use the Core Fragments to open the gate" Nothing happens when I open the gateway, the quest stays the same. And a marker appears down on top of that big aliens head.

Either you arent following what the quests have said, or you have conflicting mods installed interfering with them.
