Moons: Why have they become so rare?
This mod makes actual planets have the ability to become moons.

I love that.

But that raises the problem of causing actual moons to become far more rare. In my latest game, I don't even have one in the entire galaxy, so there's no source of fuel aside from more rare and difficult types.

I suggest adding a parameter to check during generation and force at the minimum a single moon into every star system. This will help them actually be locatable.

I assumed it was this mod as this is the only galaxy-generation mod I use.

Current Setup weighs Moons at .6 probablity for the majority of the time (which roughly translates to 60%) I could bump it up to a super majority and reweigh the planet-moons against that.
Why not ? i do admit moons are rare and usually far between.
Not a major problem, but concerning.

Really all that I would suggest is force the algorithum to incorperate at least ONE lunar body into the system at all times, ya know?

Well, they should be less rare because as I stated above, I could not find any Echuris Fuel. This lead to me having to use modded fuel that was much more rare.

I bumped up Moons to a .8 weight with everything else sharing a .2 weight
Looks good.
I figured out what the problem was.

I was using United Systems Expansion with this. Oddly enough, this seemed to make the moons far more rare. When I uninstalled the planet mod (cause I disliked some of the planets in it) it suddenly started causing moons to appear in almost every moon slot, give or a take a few.

Would this be an incompatibility issue or a general issue due to high amounts of possible planets?
Well I also recently stopped using USE, because it had incompatibilities with some of my other mods. Now things seem to be working better. But maybe it's just ANOTHER mod of mine that overrides some things from this mod and changes it to THAT mod's normal... don't know....?

If I had to make a guess, United Systems Expansion probably altered the Moon planet pool.
I would have to agree, even though I don't know how it all works exactly. What I do know is that now it's been boosted, it didn't really take effect when I still had the mod installed. I removed it and now moons make up a huge portion of every system. It's a problem with the mod, not on you.
