The goal was to make the mod less cheaty than before. You might not believe it but that's an high frequently requested thing since the launch of the mod long time before the Steam release (until today).
Suggestion: what if you try out the Hoarder addon, which is intended for the hoarders like you? Furthermore with the addon you still have the 300 slot cap in the Storage Manipulator.
Really interesting for me would be:
1. Do you have a problem with the capped maximum slots to 100 at the Manipulatior station or the general resource cost increase? Or both?
2. Do you think the Hoarder addon is an option for you? If no, why exactly?
- Previously upgraded containers still have expanded slot count.
- Intent to make anymore is fraught by the reduction of slot count to 100
I use the Wall Storage that is 128 slot default. (Smaller Footprint)
I upgraded them all to 300 before last update.
Now when i go in game and open any FU added storage ie Fridge or locker the game crashes with error in chest.cfg.
I had to break every (Food Locker FU) and (Wall Storage FU) i had and replace them to stop the crash.
Now they are all reduced back to 128 slot
(Lost all Storage Matter used to upgrade them)
***I had to make more to account for stuff that would not fit.
Also the Food Locker and the Wall Storage from FU have lost the Naming of Container and the Sorting and search Function and pick up with items in option. SEE SCREENSHOTS BELOW
I play with 6 other people and storage is a big thing. We hoard because we need to
Converting other thing into other things is a big part of FU and this mod helped with that with the added storage features

I hope it makes it more clear.
Just to be sure: Will the Hoarder Addon make everything work as it was? So basically, will it "restore" the mod functionality to how it was pre-patch or are there some limitations/drawbacks?
I love your mod, and I really would love to keep using it as is. Same with my fellow players on our joint server. Personally, I would have preferred to leave the mod as is and provide an addon for those who complain about it being "too cheaty". I mean, noone forces you to use this mod :) But oh well, if I can get my "old" mod back with installing the addon, I will do just that. :3
2. Do you think the Hoarder addon is an option for you? If no, why exactly?"
1. The answer is both. It already took around a hundred random containers to make a single max container. Like someone else said, I too play multiplayer FU and there's a ton of items that need stored and sorted. I don't see it as cheaty since I could still achieve the same results eventually, but the results would be less organized and take far, far longer. I don't want 3 chests for blocks, I want 1 chest. I don't want 3 chests for food, I want 1 chest. Etc. It's not exactly game-breaking to have a clean, organized storage system.
The price increase to reach 100 slots is pretty ridiculous now on its own, but the price to print a brand new chest is absolutely asinine now. Something like 150 matter for a single bookcase? What is that, like 1,500 storage containers that need destroyed? How many hours of doing nothing does it take to get that?
2. I've never heard of the Hoarder version. I haven't looked into it. My point for this addon was I downloaded it because it did what I wanted to happen and it seemed fair in both time investment and reward. It took multiple days of exploring and gathering storage containers to slowly upgrade our base's storages. If the hoarder is pretty much this addon but the cap is 300, I don't see the point in it either since the time investment that's now required is way too high for a far smaller payoff.
Personally I'd prefer if you just left this addon as it was and then made a separate version that's "more balanced." (time consuming) Then everyone can pick what they want.
After that my solution would be:
1. increase the cap back to 300 for the regular mod.
2. the Storage Matrix produce Storage Matter instead of Fragments. The additional step about crafting fragments into material via the inventory would be obsolete. The price should be more comprehensible then.
e.g. recycling a container brings 2 Storage Matter in average. The cost for a 100 slot Dumpster is actually 41 Storage Matter. The average cost for changing the slots is ~20-40 Storage Matter. For me that balancing seems ok.
Thank you for actively considering the feedback here! I think that would be a good solution indeed - and as far as I understand, it's already implemented? Gotta check it out later :)
Again, I love your mod. It brings so much quality of life to previous storage issues that I would not want to miss it! xx
I guess the thread can be closed?
Neo, your last proposal makes sense. And as Selphie mentioned, thanks for listening to your fans. ;)
When can we expect to have this fixed? No pressure, just asking.
