Question / Suggestion ?
Hello there, I'm a long time sub - instantly fell in love with this mod when i first played it ages ago. I replayed it now to see how far it's gone and it has really improved, so kudos!

I have a teeny tiny problem with it though. I've had this problem before and it persists now.

After the initial quite difficult start, the game gets progressively easier, rather than more difficult. Since there is no threat, no invaders, no-one to attack and/or defend against, once you get a hold of power - food growing, you are pretty much set.

There is the initial challenge that you have to overcome, the thrill of trying to make a survivable habitat with limited resources, but after that there is, simply, no challenge.

You don't *have* to accept new crew, so you can just prepare a rocket with just structural stuff to build new habs. Or, i dunno, entertainment packages. You don't *have* to do risky moves like building a reactor, since you can just order a ton of solar panels and work with them.

In general, any challenge that could have been a challenge, is not there, since you can choose not to have it. Rockets come and go and they don't really require you to do anything.

If I was to propose solutions (since i don't want to just note out the flaws of an unfinished mod, lol) it would be these:

1. Rockets require money to prepare. Mars money. The stuff you put on them also costs money, so that not just weight is a problem.

2. Crew rockets are mandatory. You can't re-configure them.

3. Crew rockets might contain prisoners. It would be awesome to see like, 5 people coming along with 2 navy seals or something, and you're like, as a player, "I have to feed all of them now" xD let alone building a place for them.

4. Rockets can't go back unless you re-fill them with fuel. Sending them back is the only way to make money, by filling them up with unwanted crates or silver, or martian creations. So initially you're stuck. Generally, sending back a rocket and requesting one should be very difficult.

5. Instead, Earth has already sent a (limited) amount of packages (like the ones you find as you land) that are already en route. Perhaps via some sort of smaller, automatic, disposable rockets, i dunno. This is just to anticipate a little bit of help in your early steps.

Even so, however, it's pretty difficult to create a challenge since you have stated "no enemies" (I assume not either from different factions). Having a survival game when there's nothing actively trying to destroy you is most likely going to become boring at some point.

Mind you, I know this is all entirely subjective, I'm not talking about the experience of others - others might love it. It just felt "challenge-less" to me.

So anyway, take anything or leave it all, and keep up the good work!

thanks, i already have everything worked out for future updates, covering everything, the current version on git is very very basic and just a quick update of the old alpha 16 version to 1.2 and still has some bugs, i have still been working on the full project separately.

Cool then. Excited to see it when it's done! ^_^
