If you've found a mod that for sure is breaking Prepare Carefully, definitely let me know. When someone tells me that a mod is incompatible, I always try it out. Unfortunately, that mod often works fine for me--which can be really frustrating--but when I can reproduce the problem, I'll do my best to fix it.
Is it normal for the modded game to have a slew of errors listed when it first boots up?
I'm at the point now where I am about to just go back to vanilla. Seems like most of the mods simply do not get along well with each other. And I still can't get into the modded game due to the map throwing an error while being generated. Not a clue which mod is doing that either.
The log is less than useful as well from a users perspective as it doesn't inform which mod is giving the errors.
Am going on now six hours of - not playing.
Instead trying to troubleshoot mods as to which are incompatible with which, and which are breaking which function.
I've played games previously where I had to do this. But this is taking it to a new level of insanity.
Thanks for the previous response. I just figured there might have been a player generated list ongoing as to compatibility issues.
You could try going on YouTube and search for "modded rimworld". Modded RimWorld "Let's Play" videos usually include a mod list and they show the correct order in which to load mods. You don't have to try all of the mods in the list, but it's a good starting point to see a combination that should work together.
I actually have a mod that helps me with the order and version sorting. LOL
However.
I got my very first error when I installed my first mod, but didn't select mods yet. And it just kept climbing from there. Apparently having a mod in the mod directory created an error.
I was aware of the version issue as well. And I also try not to use competing mods, which can also cause issues.
I will check YouTube and see if that helps.
The error list is quite extensive. So much so in fact that it actually states that it stopped listing them to avoid spam.
I also ran a file verify on the game as well, which turned up nothing. Everything was fine there as well.
It takes around 5 minutes with mods for the game to get to the error page while loading. And the last time it had 1532 lines of errors. I have an older alienware system, so that is likely adding to the loading time as well.
Think I will try the YouTube suggestion, as well as just adding 5 mods at a time to see how the game reacts and plays.
Thanks for the help.
And thanks for prepare carefully too EdB, It's essential to every rimworld.
Workaround for me was to disable QOL until I started the game, then save, back out and re-enable QOL.
Good to know and i wonder why some pawns have no heads.
Btw did you test it with a current save?
